Probably one of the first tunes which got me on the one way trance train to heaven. Just reminds me of being young, carefree and mind blown by so amazing music. Video says 2002 but have a feeling it’s 2003?

This was the first version I've heard, just at the time I was getting into trance. Zouk Recordings was a major factor in that transition.

But yeah, this version (from the OP) is much, much better. And it's from 2002. Plummet - Damaged

One of the best. The melody, vocals, lyrics. What a track.

Love the "rushed" style of the vocals.

The lyrics are actually quite traumatic (written from the perspective of an abuse victim), I always wonder what the writer thinks knowing thousands of clubbers have belted this out with their hands in the air.

Realising that Delerium - Silence is also about the same subject really blows your mind.

Meanwhile, today we have all of those "I love you but you don't love me" kind of generic pre-packaged BS.

Now that you mention this, this is incredibly dark. Never paid attention to the lyrics, but it's pretty clear. Awful stuff. I think I've read that Silence isn't about raping, but depression and suicide.

I strongly believe that Airwave's Hello Sunshine touches on abuse as well, but probably in the form of bullying. The lyrics seem positive and upbeat 'from now on' in the artist's point of view, but touches on the past.

TIL Hello Sunshine has a vocal version.
Based on how everyone treated Pumped Up Kicks, I think it's safe to assume that most people didn't realize the Damaged lyrics were in fact dark.
