One of the biggest trance records of all time receives a fresh makeover from Roman Messer and Cari!

'Silence', originally a worldbeat vocal anthem by Delerium featuring vocals from Sarah McLachlan, firmly secured a place in the trance hall of fame - according to just about everyone - thanks to several trance remixes that are now widely regarded as all-time classics. With its lyrics known by heart by every fan of the genre and the instantly recognizable vocal melody, it's one of the favorite records of many people - including, as it happens, Roman Messer, even before he himself became a notable name in the scene. Having considered putting his own touch on the seminal record for some time now, Roman has enlisted the help of the Dutch vocalist Cari, who is, according to his own words, one of his favorite vocalists to work with and thus quite naturally the voice on many of his vocal anthems already. Staying true to the spirit of the original vocal performance by McLachlan but adding her own unmistakable idiosyncrasies, Cari makes the song her own - and Roman Messer provides a competently produced instrumental to carry her voice and make it shine among his synths. He has already teased this version of 'Silence' in his live sets over the past few months, sparking the curiosity of ID enthusiasts worldwide, and now time has come to lift the veil.
A modern high-energy peaktime uplifting trance banger, this take brings the hailed classic to the sound of 2022. Energetic just like Roman makes 'em, and just as heartfelt as the beloved versions of the past, Roman Messer and Cari's version of 'Silence' is sure to rock dancefloors now that live events seem to start reappearing for good.

Nice rework of timeless classic, Cari did gr8 work recreating the vocals.

Never been a huge fan of those vocals, this rework is rather predictable, the vocals are still quite bad for me, the rest is just ok, the new melody is fine, while the whole production is generic

I don't think a remake/remix will ever have a good response. This is the most recognisable trance classic with some of the most iconic remixes back in the days. With that said it really feels generic, which is a shame because Roman Messer as a producers is one the best artists that makes trance atm. He tends to go over the commercial side somewhat often, but his skills are there.

Edit: the vocal really brings the song down, he might of been better off with using the original.
