Almost every track I start either ends up being uplifting or ends up in a sideline folder never to be looked at.
So in the little free and mostly me time I have lately I'm pushing myself in non uplifting directions and trying to think differently about things.
I have to say that it's not that easy but it has cleared my mind a bit.
Out of the tracks I'm currently exploring with, this track already gives me a great feeling. It obviously isn't finished yet and I hope I will.

Immediately I put this on one word struck me. … Fuck!

Mate its overall feel has a lovely simple and effective beauty to it. The best ive heard from you. Dont get me wrong. Other stuff of yours ive heard is great. But this track has a quality so releasable with big labels. And I know you want to do that ultimately. Its the kind of sound id love to make myself but haven't been able to. Id say its 95% finished. I know it needs an ending / outro but there ‘might’ be a couple of areas where something like 1 extra sound effect or something like that may enhance it, but im not sure if it needs it or not actually. Hopefully others can feedback.
Aura. Lovely name too. Yours must be shining well brightly at the moment judging by this track. 👌

It's nice, the vibes are sweet and the mixing seems impeccable, but I do see some areas of improvement:
- the drums are a bit static and predictable; would love to hear some more creativity and variance
- that "Anjuna" Sylenth1 pluck preset has been overdone in trance, so I'd also invest a bit of time in sound design

Dude, you've got no idea how much this means to me 😄 Thank You!!!

I just had the feeling to try different things and to get my mind more open in a creative kind of way cos I felt a bit stuck.
I must say it accentuated the fun in creating again.
I've got a few more idea's for the track and creative decisions to make and see how they work out.

But danm...my best yet...wow.....

Thanks so much again 🙏👊

Drums and percussive elements already were a thing to look at and have play around with.

But you've really set me up for a challenge with the pluck sound. I thought I had something unique but yet recognizable, never thought it was that recognizable.
I can look into the sound design for the pluck but I'm a little bit afraid to f***k it up so it doesn't fit anymore.

But thanks for the feedback 👍👊

Archon has a very worthwile opinion. But to differ from it, i want to point out that I think sometimes the simplicity of something( which can at times present itself as static) sometimes highligts the gelling of a great package overall. All parts forming a lovely synced product.

I have some tips, should you wish to change anything.

1. Offcourse always save older daw versions incase fk ups happen. ( they have with me lol, too many times)

2. Drums. Percusion is a safe thing to work on or add to, just sits in a daw chanel / track and you can keep if you wish or mute it. Just dont delete the drums already there on this version if you change them.

3. Archon mentioned the pluck sound. Yes, it has been used quite a bit, but ive always loved it. After listening a few times i started thinking maybe add a big effect from the free to download Valhalla Supermassive. The reverbs are the best for huge width and atmosphere. They are accompanied by interesting un usual swirling delays often etc and this can be eddited to your delight. Perfect to add atmosphere to plucks making them other worldly sometimes. (Check the ones named, sea beams, hydra and the others on that preset list on the reverb presets , named large i believe, then play with the dials. If not valhalla supermassive, try adding another good quality version of an effect vis a plugin. This wsy the original patch is still the same and wont be lost, but if you choose the right 3 rd party effect, you can make a saw wave sound like a thimble droping and vice versa, or basically, the right effects change the sound just as much as editing filters, envelopes, lfo, modulation, etc. ……. Happy accidents can happen too which are wonderful 🙂

I do agree with the both of you. Static elements really can work and glue the other coming and going elements together. But changes, be it minor of major add to the overall flow and groove. In the end I think it's also a thing of taste.

I do already have some ideas about some parts so will see how that will work out. 😁

I always make backups of my tracks so I'm case of fuck ups I can easily recover my work out at least most of it 😅

I wasn't planning on changing to much in the existing drum and percussion, but I think there's some room left to change some things and even add some.

This is such a big part of my playground 😁 I love to play around with FX to see what it does. I think that at the moment on the pluck I only have Ableton's stock fx plugins. Going to play around some more with it and I will also have a look of I can do something with the sound design without losing to much of the character.

In short.... There are plenty of ideas bubbling up for the track so can't wait to open up my DAW again 😁

Thanks 🙏👍🏻👊🏻

I like the main melody and progression. Not too sure about the plucks though. It's nice to have a counter melody to add some syncopation, but they sound too up front for me and take away from that nice lead melody. Maybe bring them back in the mix somewhat or, as @Archon has said, try a different sound.
I was going to mention some more interesting percussion, but you are already on that! 😁

The biggest change I would make (and this is my personal preference) is add some more lush sounding pads at some point as the track feels a bit empty in the mid range after a while and the ones that are in there, while they sound ok, are a little bit thin sounding.

Nice work over all so far, I look forward to hearing the finished version!

Finally able to crawl in to my DAW again and get some work done (4 days is a long wait).
So this is the result of today's session. The changes made weren't to easy and some pretty subtle, but I think overall the track has improved and could be even ready for mastering.
I've changed the plucks a by adding a layer and cutting the others down a bit.
Added a pad layer to thicken up the sound.
Made some changes in the percussion, cutting and rearranging some bits and adding a layer that swirls around the rest.
