Felt the need to come on and correct you here mate, as you clearly don’t know what your talking about

pitching a vocal involves moving the vocal key either up or down to fit the key of your track

this was neither, the vocal is sang by Victoriya in her natural tone, she has a unique deep tone, and it’s why I like her vocals, they are different from what’s about right now, might not be for everyone, but please don’t talk nonsense about the technical aspects of a vocal which you know nothing about

With all the respect to you sir, you are wrong. The vocals are pitched up before it hits 2:00, than they are pitched down and slowly fades to normal, this is not her natural voice by any chances.

If you didnt pitch, it was someone else before you. Maybe it was already pitched in the template or whatever the vocals are from, so yeah, technically it wasnt you. But they are clearly pitched up and down around 2 mins in this ASOT rip.
There is a chance its another effect used on the vocals...sounds like the same effect used on Sky0cean - I believe in mairacles fun track, produced by Kandi, thats why I was reffering to it...

In the final version however, its not that prominent like in this ASOT rip above I would say...

The melody and overall production is good tho! Just cant stand the vocals around the 2 mins time in this particular ripped version..

I usually love your stuff a lot, but this is kinda weird....well, shit happens, I see the fans likes the track, so it works like this anyway...

It was played really slow on ASOT im guessing 134-136 Bpm, as it was played in with a lot of slower tracks early on the episode, it even sounded weird to me

but I can assure you the main vocals are not pitched, My instrumental was sent to Victoriya by me and she sang the vocals over it, the intro vocals before the main hook are adlibs from a sample pack

Well, I just gave a listen to the full version and I want to apologize for the whole thing, its was just the god damn Asot rip!!! The final version is alright. Still slightly strange, but definitely not pitched....
So it was my bad, should have listened to the full track straight away and not judging the terrible rip, which was probably speeded up and than slowed down or sth...

It’s def a different and unique vocal, I knew that from the start, I have also been doing this long enough to know not everyone will like your music, and I’m also fine with that.

The track has a deep meaning for me and prob why I’m so emotionally evolved in it and maybe a bit triggered 😀

no offence taken ✌🏻

I listened to another version which isnt that rip and it still sounded odd in my ears when the vocal comes in. I do however like the main chorus 'need u here' vocal as the track goes into the 2nd part. Its an ok track, and lovely sentiment to his dad with the photos in the vid...but its nowhere near his 'Stay' remix from a few years ago.

ALL vocal trancers after 2010 is just a shadow of its formers self imo... to me everything sounds the same. kick-heavy, sample pack from Parkinson/Attkinson/ GO one-note melody, washed out vocals.. no journey, shallow kind of feels, almost like a parody (of a parody) of what it used to be..even if it could be cheesy in the past aswell

And all the mediocre 2010 producers set the standard of it, which is very low in all reality.

Just listen to music before 2010 then, you will be all good !

must check out those GO & Atkinson sample packs, wasn’t aware they even existed 👍🏻

Hehe @Daysleeper, the dude that is never satisfied. There are vocal trancers from 2010 onwards that are very good, but ok I admit it’s on the rare side. Secretly I do hope more soulful and ‘less is more’ vocals come back more into the music.

I like the vocals in this track, and I like the music even more.
