The most promising TL in a long time for a PT compilation. I see some unexpected names: Photographer, Digital Blonde, Wavetraxx, Sonic Element. I guess Nickson mixed at least one of the CDs, his name is all over the place
All mixed by Rich himself for this iteration

Woah the track list looks really exciting and 3 mixes of very different journeys look to be on the menu. It’s going to be hard to too Movements this year but we could be in for a surprise.

shout out to my boy Jon (Deepcry) for getting himself on here, he' one of the best producers I know. also as someone who was a regular on MPFS Promotions back in the day I'm always excited to hear more tunes from Alucard, I've always realy looked up to that guy. Made a lot of long-standing friends on MPFS too
Seconded. Absolutely stoked for Jon. I wouldn't be producing if it were not for him.

I'm waiting for the CD release because the entire tracklist is very interesting :) CD 1 Progressive, CD 2 Uplifting, CD 3 Uplift-Tech. The idea came from Armin where he releases ASOT on three CDs :D

The idea was executed terribly on ASOT though. 45 min mixes, very quick transitions of the tracks, not a good flow, tracks sounds rushed like being radio edits etc. I wish I could enjoy it, but I can't. I believe they made it like that to please the streamers and get more 'listens' by having smaller tracks.

The new ASOT compilation is just an experiment. But on the other hand, we live in times when Progressive, Tech and even Uplifting last as long as 5-6 minutes, which is crazy in my opinion.

What's even more stupid is that every interview is cut into 30 second-parts, just to have more "plays" and thus money. The tracklist of ASOT shows on Spotify is a big mess. Looks like this:

Interview part 1: 0:30.
Interview part 2: 0:30.
Interview part 3: 0:30.
Interview part 4: 0:30.
Interview part 5: 0:30
ASOT track summary: 0:30.
[etc]

My copy arrived early! :D

Also, tonight’s PTR episode was a recording of the hour set Rich played at the Black Hole pop up shop during ADE and there’s a load of tunes from the album in there for those who can’t wait ‘til Friday!

@LostLegend - just got to Running Man - absolutely batshit crazy, LOVE IT!
:ROFLMAO:
A pretty last minute addition as well. Rich only signed it in early September.
I was initially going to self release it but was having some issues with the copyright (the melody is from the soundtrack of the Arnie film of the same name) and our very own @Magnevi suggested I send it to a label to see if they could sort that out.

Crazy how these things turn out.

Properly fresh! Good bit of risk transference there - I also enjoyed the Aliens sample early in Disc 3 (can't remember exactly which track it was)

Finished listening to disc 3 now. I'm so glad Rich mixed the whole thing himself - an utterly consistent (which doesn't mean "boring") sounding journey. Will be going back to this one time and time again.

Im not hating or being rude now but i seriously didnt like a single track on this whole mix. Usually even most mixes i dont like i find like say 5 decent once and 2-3 good ones. Here not a SINGLE one. Cant describe it. Everything is just of poor quality. Boring robotic beatwork with zero creativity which is split into the 2-3 same-sounding styled beat patterns across the whole cd on every track ( theres like 40 tracks but they all sound basically the same so you can place them within these 2 or 3 subgroups of same sounding tracks) and the melodys are made up of extremely cheap souding synths aswell. Listen to his destination mixes from the past and then compare it to this. Its like night and day. These tracks just has zero creativity, flow, credibility or charachter to them. Pity.

Compared to this the movements mix by activa ls a masterpiece.

2/10 might be the worst PT ive ever heard.

edit: that was the uncut grumpy ds review, but i stand by my words at the end of the day. a 4 or 5 /10 is probably a more realistic score. The beatwork in all of these tracks are def their weakest link, including the bass/basslines. They all sound extremely dry and plasticky and slappy/tired overall. theres no roundness or dynamic sound to any of it, and the rhytmical patterns sound basically the same in all tracks. Just the most basic of basic really muddy rolling non-defined bassline and the same slappy plasticy clap/snare to every track. Theres no variation to the rhytmical patterns. The only differece from the slow tracks on the first disc to the second/third is that it just more beefed up, its still the same tired rhytmical beatwork and sound.
