The opener for Magik 1. Great track, and honestly a very good example of what trance can be.
If you pay attention, you can see that it retains some of the mystery from early 1990s classics while integrating the influence from Robert Miles' dream trance.

I tried to like this in its entirety, I really did. I thought maybe I was hearing it wrong at one point, but nope.

To me, the first 5-ish minutes are fantastic (although that crash at 4:21 seems entirely too loud). Then at 5:20, as iconic as the piano may be, I just don't think it fits at all. At 6:20 though, all the way through 7:45 it's great.

My favorite part by far, which unfortunately isn't very long, is 3:52 to 4:20. Incredible atmosphere there - and 4:50 to 5:20ish -, but the rest of the track seems disjointed (and entirety too long) to me.

Dub mix, 100%. But why is my version only 8:42 mins, whereas that youtube version is 10 mins? 🤔

What do you mean? The original dub mix is almost 11 mins long. Yours must be an edit or something maybe this one but this one is only 8:17.
