Its okay, never been a huge fan of these vocals. Maybe they were done better in that Rollergirl cover version, but that was way too cheesy. This remix is ok, would give it a 6/10
// The sort of "pure" small melodies, smooth beats... they obviously don't match with these commercial (and awefully imitated...) vocals. It's simply no match.
7-10 and Credits to Rich for giving props to the original author of the track. (as opposed to Elstak and Rollergirl, who's mix i'll rank last on the list.)
that being said I dislike that "Hey" thingy. it sorta brings me out of it.
I think it's a great remix that stays true to the original instrumentally and uses the original vocals too. I don't understand the comment that these are imitated vocals?!
Still my favourite mix of this was the Lost Witness remix, never released sadly. Starts at 11:29
Somehow this doesn't feel like a pure mix. I also never liked the song. I rather wished he managed to release his pure mix of London Grammar's Waisted My Young Years.
The only track Pure Trance vol 9 that i'd say was bad. Really cheese vocals, the lyrics extremely cringe. Of all the vocals to choose to Purify this was not the one. 'we can make the sea turn turtle?'... what?
I will say that at 2:53 has that lovely Trance feel. Thats really nice, as is the next phase at 3:25, but some of the FX bit oddly placed in the mix.
This was the only track that I actually disliked, had to skip,. Still giving a few more listens to the vol 9 before I make my mind up, but yeah there were some pretty forgettable ones, but it wasn't that they were bad tracks.
Usually love Solarstone's stuff, but this one doesn't really do it for me. Not a fan of the vocals really.
On the flip side, I heard him talk about this on one of his Pure Trance Radio episodes and it seems this is one of his favorite songs from back in the day and has wanted to remix it for years. The track clearly means something to him and I can vibe with that on a personal level even if it's not my thing.
I love the original, always thought it was more of a sing-a-long song and nice that Solarstone remix keeps it that way. This remix is ok, but Sunshine Valentine & Stefan Anion remix still on top for me.
Well well, usually tracks are growing on me but this is heading the absolute other way, its a skipper from me on the compilation, the voclas are just soo bad, really, really bad....especially compared to paul Elstak cover....
