This was also the first trance release with a commercial success in germany (peak position 42), 'We Came In Peace', 'Stella', 'Age Of Love' , 'No Fate', 'Wonderer', or 'Cafe Del Mar' din't made it into the charts..

the 30th anniversary release comes with a new 'Hardspace' version from 'Len Faki'
L'Esperanza (Hope) is undoubtedly one of Sven Väth's greatest hits. After more than 30 years, we are very proud to revive this timeless masterpiece for you on Cocoon Recordings. The artwork of the A-side is from the original 12" cover, which was released on Eye Q Records back then. Anyone who knows Sven recognizes that he has always felt free and evolved in terms of appearance and style. That's why we instantly loved the idea of Sven re-staging himself in the same pose but in a new guise. This picture disc documents a 30-year-long transformation, both sonically and visually. It is a beautiful journey through time and a true collector’s item.

A1: L'Esperanza (Original Album Version) 1993 Produced in 1993, this track has certainly not lost any of its charm over the years. Lovely string sounds envelop you in a cloud of comfort, while the filtered downbeat emphasizes this feeling of lightness. The catchy tune of the playful synthesizer melody invites you to close your eyes and start dreaming. Let yourself fall into a deep state of meditation and trance. The airy electric bassline comes with a charismatic power and opens a door to the subconscious, calling on you to dive deep. The atmosphere of this composition sits somewhere between drifting through the sea and hovering through space.

B1: L'Esperanza (Hardspace Mix) 2023 A revised version of the "Hope Will Move Mountains Mix" by "Visions Of Shiva" occurs on the B-Side in the form of Len Faki’s hardspace mix. Len is renowned for his elegant edits and refined modifications as part of his side project, this time delivering a stripped-down 135 BPM version that fits perfectly into the current zeitgeist. A club version of "L'Esperanza" that radiates a high level of euphoric energy, constantly pushing the rhythm patterns forward. All hands go up in the air at the latest when the piano part starts in the middle section. Let’s go back to the good old days of the original 90s trance sound since the cheerful arpeggio synth melody takes us along.

What is certain, you can't tell that either version has been around for 30 years.

No way, seriously? Age of London didn’t get into charts? And Cafe Del Mar too!!!! Fuck me, is this a German thing or something, I thought trance was big in your country at this time. Least L’Esperanza got some air time, it’s a super nice track, but surprises me as it’s not that commercial sounding for the time.

There was never a more popular dj in Germany than 'Sven', he is something like a godfather of the club scene, so its not a surprise that 'L'Esperanza' was so successful in the days.. still to day he is much more popular than 'Paul Van Dyk' and you can see him in all 'Techno' documentaries about the good old times

to the other tracks.. well .. the major labels started the 'Trance' thing only after 'Robert Miles - Children' (no.1 position in Germany for 7 weeks) in 1996.. after this all popular tracks from 91-95 were reissued with new remixes: 'Cafe Del Mar (Three'N'One Remix)', 'The Age Of Love (Paul Van Dyk "Love Of Ages" Remix)' and only then started their commercial success

Wish music like this was still being made. It doesn't take itself so seriously, but at the same time, provokes a lot of emotion.

Making the Doub mix TOTW. So good, all of them.

Btw this has now seen a rerelease on bandcamp. Funny enough the Doub mix is now called the Double mix? Maybe this was meant to be the name all along and a spelling mistake happened back in the original design

Astral Projection just played this version at Ozora festival in Hungary.
I'm pretty confident this is their new remix. It sounds fantastic!

The woman in the video . Who is she? and where was the music video filmed?
I don't know who the woman in the video is but it could be Patricia I might be wrong but Sven posted this last year.

"La Esperanza," a key track from my album "Accident in Paradise," led to a video clip in 1993 that visualized more than just music – it conveyed a message. Filmed on Treasure Island in the Bahamas, this clip was unique, especially for its connection to dolphin conservation.
The lyrics of the song – "With a dolphin in the depths of the ocean, we dance through the universe, driven by hope" – inspired me to swim with dolphins that had been purchased for release. This moment, filmed underwater, became the core of the video clip and symbolized the unity between humanity and nature.
The experience in the Bahamas led to the "Save the Dolphins" benefit event in Munich, which I organized with Dr. Motte and Rick O'Barry. Thus, the video clip for "La Esperanza" was more than an artistic work; it was a symbol of environmental protection and the power of music to effect positive change.
I wish you all lovely Xmas days
