Beatport qualifies this as 'techno'. It is pretty monotone, but it captures something serene that most 'techno' tracks lack.

well normally Beatport don't genre tag the tunes themselves, must have been assigned that way from the label

Beatport qualifies this as 'techno'. It is pretty monotone, but it captures something serene that most 'techno' tracks lack.

Well the description of the release does state it is "Influenced by 90s chords and trance elements." However since no-one actually wants to call trance as trance these days, this time it is techno. Some other release and it is melodic house or something.

The track is superb by the way.

It's interesting that the techno scene delivers more interesting trancetracks then the trance scene . Love those blends and trance needed a good kick in the butt..
