Determined to complete Baldurs Gate 3 this weekend. I've been playing it since like April or something, so many hours, I dread to think of how many actually. I'm close but still have some pretty hefty battles remaining. Sweet game. Very rare I see these big open world rpgs to the end.
After 450+ hours, I did manage to finish it, completing all the side missions. Act 3 was BY FAR the most overwhelming part of the game.
Still need 5 achievements to unlock in order to 100% the game (including finishing it on Honour difficulty 😣)

Ive never been a 100% kind of guy, especially for these kind of massive open world games. Don't you get bored and ready to move on around 200 hours? I was very happy to finish when I did. Still loved the game, but where do you find the time?

Act 3 was indeed too bloated, and I think the story and momentum suffered a bit too. Some amazing fights though, and loved in the city setting, so not bad by any means.

After the first ~150 hours of playing with my friends, we kind of stopped at Act 3 because everyone was overwhelmed.
I then took a four-month break, after which I just restarted the game from the beginning solo. Playing DnD on Sundays kept things interesting for me - without it, I'd probably get bored pretty fast.
As for finding time to play, I usually squeeze in around 4 hours after work - it adds up pretty quickly.

Some new games are becoming much more expensive these days, because first it was Nintendo, now it's xbox raising the prices.

Expect Sony to do the same. :(

P.S.. is anybody buying the Switch 2? I had a good think about it and decided not to, at least for the first few years, by then there'll be much more choice in games and maybe even an OLED version.

Who loves a proper arcade racing game,
Tokyo Xtreme Racer is a gem.

They're back after 18 years and it's in early access right now.
Don't let that deceive you.
Game is already optimised better than 99% of all titles released these days.

TXR has an authentic oldschool street Racer vibe, it has those small details other companies don't care about these days.

Genki are the Enigma State of arcade games.
Not sure they would get it, if I gave them that compliment. But the folks here will get it. 😸

Finished Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, one of the best turn-based games I have played in a long time. I don't necessarily agree with the game of the year claims, because I thought the story became too messy as it went on, but its still a very good game. Mostly due to the combat and world design.

This one got a full review from me on my platform, you can read it here

And as usual, my feature reviews come with a pixel character from the game. Here is Esquire!
