I spent years & years collecting Trance compilation CDs - but this mix transition between The Space Brothers - 'Shine' & Humate - 'Love Stimulation' will always be the most beautiful and uplifting mix transition i have ever heard!

What is yours?

It's an interesting one - as much as I love transitions like that - I always felt like both those tracks need time to breathe on their own and it almost borders on not working as they come very very close to clashing. But I love the concept.

One of my favourites ever is Orinoko - Island (Thrillseekers Remix) into Oceanlab - Beautiful Together (Seraque Mix). I've used it in a few of my mixes. First verse vocals of Beautiful Together work perfectly with Island and with a bit of editing, it is gorgeous!

Also love using Mark Eteson & Ben Nicky - Altitude as there's a key change which allows you to mix in harmonically from any track in G and mix out into any track in D if you mix at the right point.

I believe this depends a lot on the tracks themselves that are being mixed together, if there's a perfect smooth melodic transition between two average tracks it won't feel any special

I don't think I have like a favorite one, at least I can't think of any without checking some stuff again. overall I really enjoyed Markus Schulz mix compilations from mid 00s, Ibiza '06 and Amsterdam' 08 had a lot of amazing smooth transitions between amazing records, the Amsterdam '08 one won the best Countinuous DJ Mix award on DJ Mag or something if I'm correct.

This is an interesting question. The ones I remember the most are the ones I've made myself that just worked so well, either planned or by happy accident. Not gonna shill those here hehe. But I do think it's interesting people have transitions from others' sets baked in to their memory. I suspect it's a combo of them actually being good plus two meaningful tracks to the listener, plus some fond memories around a set or live experience.

When I make studio mixes I'm often trying to make every damn transition memorable, or nearly invisible. I wonder what people would say about them.
