Hey all,
So this was actually inspired by @Z Dobrej Woli's thread about "Everybody Knows That". A "Lost" song that was recently identified. Being a huge lost wave fan myself, It was really exciting to see another member of this forum post about it.
However, the song I am going to be talking about in this thread is considered the holy grail of lost songs.
Because this search has been going on for many years now and has an essay's worth of backstory, I will try and briefly sum up the most mysterious song. Originally recorded by a teenage boy named Darius onto a cassette tape from a West German radio station(NDR1 most likely) sometime in the early 80s(the most accepted year is 1984), the song which is of the post punk/new wave genre would go unheard again till around 2007 when his sister Lydia would inquire about the song and posts several snippets of the song on several forums. The search would further intensify in 2019 When a Brazilian Reddit user would inquire about the song in 44 posts about the song in various subreddits.
Ever since,many across the globe have been searching for the band and official name of the song. The unofficial title of the song has been dubbed:Like The Wind, although it has various other titles. While there have been many leads, theories and even documentaries(mainly on YouTube) about this song, no one has still been able to properly identify it. No one has officially come to claim it, though there have been quite a few false claims of ownership for it over the years.
Here is "The Most Mysterious Song On The Internet." I will also be leaving links for the history of the song and its search. What are you theories? Is anyone here able to decipher the accent of the lead vocalist? Id love to hear your thoughts.
