Is it possible to increase the size of the user avatar option beyond 400x400? and is it possible to have a GIF file as a avatar, not just JPEG?

I will look into Gifs, maybe there is a free plug-in

How come you want something more than 400x400? You want a high quality resolution for the image you choose?

GIFs aren't possible (and probably won't be), but you, in fact, can upload larger images.

Here's what it says in the upload dialog:

It is recommended that you use an image that is at least 400x400 pixels.

I like your avatar anyways.

Why can't you have a GIF as an avatar?

Because it requires some large changes to our existing image rendering software provider, and I'm not sure we can manage changing that. Why would you want GIF as an avatar? It's a bit distracting, no?

If it's that big of an issue then dont worry, i figured it was a simple fix. GIF's are interesting to look at then a JPEG, thats all.

Yes, so i was alil disappointed that only JPEG's are allowed.

Now I'm disappointed. Your JPEGs are trippy as is, could imagine how much the GIFs are.
