First release of the new Armenian label Stardust and yes - and wohoo they already start with an small label comp of 7 tracks!

Armenia (as well as Georgia) are aspiring countries for a new substyle of trance music which combines the production skills from the late 90s/early 00s era (Classic Trance AND Psytrance) with modern sounds. It's kind of minimalistic, sometimes more harder /faster like early 90s rave and hardtrance sound, sometimes more Techno Driven and then it could also sound like a classic 2000 Underground trance hit, often with an UK trance feel from the same era. Nevertheless, a very fresh style, combining perfectly new and old.

It started all in Denmark (especially Copenhagen) in the late 2010s when a few new labels were created who wanted to show respect to the old school days (mainly the golden early 00 era in which Scandinavia has also a great reputation, thinking about Ticon, Atmos, Son Kite and so on) but with modern production. These small labels go by the name of V.A.L.I.S. records or BunkerBauer records (both from Copenhagen) and were quickly followed by labels and artists from Sweden (of course) but also Norway (especially from the local Oslo scene) - for example UTE.REC. and the FLUX COLLECTIVE - as well as fresh labels from France, the UK, Germany (especially Berlin) Japan, Brazil or - yes - the Netherlands. ;).
Check out ANATTA RECORDS, SPACE TRAX, TRICKY GRAIN, C P E, HARMONYREC., BEYONDTHEGALAXY, BLUE HOUR MUSIC, POSITIVESOURCE and MYSTIC RESEARCH.

It's an exciting new development in worldwide trance music and it grows. Rapidly. This is a great movement to get back to the roots but with new modern production equipment and kill all the edm/steroid/white noise/melodic house/psytech shit which is long boring for countless times now. So yes, finally a new hope for 'trance' to come back to its source and fade away the 'ASOT' shit.

Sorry for long introduction, now back to the titular comp from fresh Armenian labe STARDUST. This is realy a great compilation which shows the more classic trance side (woth an slight psychedelic feel) of this new sound without being too fast or technoish and a tribute to the NASA Voyager missions.
They jumped on the train of the new wave perfectly, you can even find some Scandinavian artists there. :) Just discover and enjoy!

Whatever new ideas they’re exploring, in my opinion, it all comes across as psytrance
