I wouldn't get the Mac for gaming, just for school work, light internet browsing, etc. I already have a gaming laptop (Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage) that is still stock, and am planning on updating the RAM to 64 GB / memory to 4 TB SSD later on. It's been fine so far

i had one till this year. Excellent machine. Great for doing visual/unity/unreal and cubase stuff, all at once

My mother is seriously ill and it’s not curable. I am very sad.
that’s godawfull man.. My mom was diagnosed with cancer 2 times and the feeling of being utterly helpless in the face of that is probably one of the worst experiences one can have..

All the best and all the strength m8

Just being grumpy into the void here for my own sake, but coming back from the holidays, after 11 days off, two trips and lots of food (especially in the last few days), I:

- can't wait to remember how hunger feels again
- got welcomed back by not just one, but two jobs with lots of responsibilities and the usual grind right from 9 AM

So my computer died on me this week.
Not sure what’s wrong, was watching crap on YouTube and it suddenly shut off and there was a burning wires smell coming from the case

I’ve opened it up and can’t see any damage, so not sure what it is. I suspect I might have overloaded my PSU as mine is a little underpowered for what I have running.

It’s a bit beyond my knowledge base (anything beyond removing/installing new parts is outside my skills)
So will have to take it to the local repair place on Monday for them to take a look.
Not ideal, as I’ve booked next week off to help out at my Mum’s place as she’s going for a hip replacement operation on Tuesday. Now I have to find time to get this fixed as well.

On the plus side, I backed everything up just before Christmas to my external SSD, so I’ve not lost anything should it be more serious then I expect. Just hope it’s not too expensive a fix!

A month and a half of using the camera - most were just me getting familiar with it on walks with a dog.

Recently, however, I brought it along on a hiking holiday. Was taking some half-decent shots, actually. But due to weather, because my lens isn't weather-sealed, I had to take it on/off constantly to pack the lens and body.

The result? A fingerprint on my sensor, and dust on and inside the lens.

So, to remedy that, I will now double the initial investment to get a weather-sealed lens, and a sensor/lens cleaning kit. I also don't think I'll be taking off the lens anymore, probably not even for storage.

I sent it to the repairman for cleaning, but I'm not overly satisfied. Oh, and I also got some hot pixels as well...

Just an overall fantastic experience with the camera.

And while I prefer the process of shooting with a camera (and potential in the photos), I'd still say a (good) smartphone is all you need, especially for convenience. Point, shoot, share, done.

What possessed them to make a restaurant cafe to be named this? Reminds me of the top gear special in Burma

In other news - I am in the process of making an app for a cafe (not this one) so they can order things online and get more sales and have like loyalty programs for the loyal customers or regular customers. Fingers crossed that it goes well.
