A question that i'm sure will have mixed answers, but who do you think are the standout producers in the scene right now. Objectively if you will, but subjectively is obviously where it will land. Just a thread to show some love. Here's the first three that come to my mind....

Allende - Infrequent releases but at a quality so much higher than everyone else
Enigma State - best tracks and sounds by a mile
Activa - Never a bad track, mostly decent to very good, and has been this way for at least 3 years now

Noble Six, Activa, Enigma State, Stoneface & Terminal, Avalon 62 and Factor B are the ones I think od

I know names like TNS and FB are not that popular in this forum, but I genuinely think they make really good music and stand out compared to most of the generic 140 scene. FB recent album was great.

If we classify it by producers whose new work I’m always interested in hearing:

- The Digital Blonde, and his other aliases. He’s got long-form trance down to a science.
- Solarstone, since I can always find something fresh in his work.
- Thomas Datt, at least if he’s gonna actually keep producing beyond those two remixes from last year 😅
- @jetflag since his album was so kickass
- The Noble Six
- Robert Nickson
- Stoneface & Terminal
- Allende
- Giuseppe Ottaviani occasionally hits it out of the park too

Narel probably my no1 producer for last few years. Most interesting prog artist around by far, diverse approach, sound design is better than the rest, has drive in his track and plenty of original ideas. Always excited to see his name drop in the release section. Top producers are...

Narel
Enigma State
Coredata
Mikkel Rev
Oprofessional
Digital Blonde
Aerium/Avalon 62
Julian Del Agranda
Allende
Activa
Bliss Inc

Wait, are you the same guy as this? The one who J00F kept pronouncing as “fuckAID” on his podcast?
Yeah that's him. J00F's pronunciation of so many things is hilarious, and he freely admits it. Adam (Facade) is one of the best IMO and not just because he's a long standing friend and collaborator; there is a depth to his sound design and attention to detail that I envy.

I’d throw Standard Form’s name into the mix. I’ve been genuinely impressed by everything he has put out recently.

Activa as already mentioned, also Factor B’s Theatre of the Mind album was technically very impressive from a production standpoint.

Activa is the best, at least, he contributes the most to the scene positively and keeps the scene going forward. Movements was just awesome, and his Tri-State vinyl was so good. Borderline has been a great addition too.

  • Filip Storsveen (Oprofessionell, Repulsive Force, Omformer)
  • Mikkel Rev (Omformer)
  • Alan Backdrop
  • Lund&Ronde (also DJ Bondefar)
  • Enigma State for that late 90s anthemic trance.
  • Maruwa
  • Bliss Inc
  • Avalon 62
  • Tadan
  • DJ Heartstring
  • Narciss
  • Rambal Cochet
  • Narel
  • DINA
  • Seo John
All of the mentioned make different forms of Trance music, but I feel they nail what makes Trance music actual "Trance" music and not some copy paste VST "epic trance" soundbank parody, or on the flipside, some lame attempt at Mainstream festival techno. (These two camps describe a lot of the output of current "mainstream" producers)

Digital Blonde, Narel and Enigma State. I do like the odd release from the underground that are shared here but wouldnt say I particularly follow those artists or see them making good tracks each month.
