Well he made an absolute bollocks of himself at Eurovision didn't he?
Especially disappointing considering Olly actually has some decent songs behind him from his 'Years & Years' days.

So I thought I'd take a bash at a cheeky bootleg of my favourite tune of theirs, which definitely wouldn't bomb at Eurovision!

A fairly cheesy one vocal wise, but I reckon it works pretty well as a more commercial sounding trance track.
YouTube only link for this as Soundcloud's new and overly aggressive content ID system has blocked it completely (Youtube's doesn't even recognise it!) So if any of you want a copy, DM me and I'll send you a download link!

I know the original from radio of course.

I don't think that the chorus works well with the beats here - although that might be the case for the entire song. But I rarely see modern pop vocals working well with trance anyways, I would assume it's not very easy to make them fit. But if you absolutely wanted to, you could perhaps move them to a sort of a calmer breakdown, and then build-up melodically to what you already have.

All in all, I think I prefer the original, even though it has bored me to hell from all the unsolicited radio plays.

Great work mate. I think I would skip that whole "trance arpeggio" part to be honest.

So from 4:00 I would make it flow into the part around 5:10 (roughly). I think it would make a really great pop-dance version.

Sort of Ferry Corsten poptrance actually.

I think only song I know from Years & Years is Desire and its quite a nice house track and one of the songs I started practising djing. Although the version I have is more house-y than the original version.

Yap the Gryffin remix
