Solarstone and JES teamed up again and made the cover of Pet Shop Boys’ track Instrumental version available as well

🪩 Something a little bit different from me under my 'Young Parisians’ alias with the amazing vocals from JES.

Pet Shop Boys were the soundtrack to my teenage years, and ‘Love Comes Quickly’ was always one of my favourites. JES and I worked together on this because her voice always reminded me a little of Dusty Springfield. Her collaborations with the Pet Shop Boys (like ‘What Have I Done to Deserve This’ and ‘Nothing Has Been Proved’) always complimented their music so well.

The idea was to make a kind of cover-cum-remix fusion, recreating a lot of the original sounds by researching which synths were used back in 1986. We also created a variation on the original cover art for the single.

This one deserves a comment imo. I really liked it. Jes is great on the vocal, the production is great.

 

[Peenuts]

A fine track. Probably Solarstone's best work past few years. Was already a fan of the original by the Pet Shop Boys. This remix stays true to the spirit of the original and turns it into a more modern-sounding danceable version. A track I think I'll revisit from time to time again.

First track in years with Jes that i've liked. Solarsonte hasn't been great either but this is nice.

The instrumental is nothing wrong with, however her voice and way of singing the chorus is, how do i say it..corny and forced to me, and its one of the least original and tasteful jes vocal ive heard.ts singing in a typical generic disco-euro-pop-diva way. The emotion, bittersweet and impactful way the original is sung is def not found in this cover.

[Hensmon]

I think the vocals still stand out compared to any vocal stuff we've got in a long long time, even if not at the standard of some of the vocal classics. But things have been so bad in vocal trance its not saying too much. Nice track though, enjoyed it quite a bit. The acid line is a nice touch.
