I loved Martys vocals in Tightrope, but in this track, its not working that well, but I like the sound and melody a lot, very good track aside from the vocals...

Quite surprised he left Gardenstate...would never expect that...but I guess that Thomas didnt put so much into the project, thats why Marcus left to create his own.
As about the track, I really like it, its catchy, a little bit cheesy, but hey, my mom loves it...and me too :) Its been a while. The track really elevates me, plus its quite unusual, surely at least 8/10

gardenstate was Marcus with Matt Felner. Thomas is part of the new project :)

Aah ok my bad, Felner is the one from USA, the promoter. I remember Marcus told to Ruben in Asot podcast how well they are working together and how good friends they are....and its not that long ago. So this is surprising to me...

Not a fan of those vocals but I like the rest
Out of all vocalists A&B have worked with I think Marty is the worst. Not like he's terrible but I don't like the ?timbre? (idk rlly) of his voice.
It's a bit grating in the higher notes, especially when he sings "gratitude" or "mood", the rest is fine. Maybe Justine would've worked better? I don't know.

Also, the bass is drowning the kick under 200hz. A shelf filter would've helped. -4dB or -6dB

Kick sounds good on big speakers but in my car it sux!
.i'd prefer a dub mix. I can't get used to the high notes from Marty. I've tried not to be annoyed but so far i didn't succeed

I been busy for the last 2 months so I am behind on all releases. Normally I listen to every new tune on a weekly basis from saved beatport record labels. I went to listen to the releases I've missed from Anjunabeats today and listening to every new release one after the other the label A&R feels like its in a right mess.

I get that they don't do 'Trance' anymore but, so many releases span different genres its just feels random, and some definatly feel more appropriate for Anjunadeep. For a specalist dance label, I would expect them to have some consistency and direction so the brand stands for something but (like Anjunadeep), Anjunabeats just feels disjointed. Whilst I'm not really a fan of them anymore, whenever I hear them DJ online like Twich etc its always tunes from the Anjunadeep side and for an outsider like me, its feels like they've all totally moved away from the big club music sound. Maybe this is why?

The polar variation may work for some and it may just be my personal preferance but, I just don't know what quality to expect from one release to the next.... I wonder if its A&B driving that or others that run the label on their behalf?

I think this forum would thrive even more if stuff that is actually "pop" dance edm wasnt here. it has nothing to do with trance. Even if it has "trancy" synths or whatever. This is a straight up pop number. Its not about hating here, its just objective facts.

I would happily take on the task of being tfs gatekeeper, cleaning out the garbage :p
