Im just saying it must be frustrating for proper DJ's if they want to search out some gems.

Yeah I agree with you and your point on the platforms being flooded with low quality material to the point where it makes discovery impossible. That is why I was so bullish about taking over this site and rebuilding it, because to me it is the best thing I have to discover high quality music quickly. Bandcamp and Soundcloud however have improved a lot over the past years so that plays a good role too.

To keep on topic, can you imagine how flooded the beatport and bandcamp stores will be when AI music is more ubiquitous. I'm sure the UI will start having labels for music partly or entirely created by AI, as well as toggles to filter (remove) tracks that are made completely with AI. Some kind of authentication software or verification system will have to be built to handle it too. Will be interesting to see what these companies due and if it will deviate from public sentiment.

You just get a 16 or 24 bit wav file, how can you define whether it's made by human or AI? AI will become the biggest ghost producer for lazy and naive/talentless upcoming guys looking for short cuts, that's it. Maybe even for big fake guys like RAM or Bixx who won't need to pay to their ghost producers if AI will offer them a good sounding tune at a cheaper price. Let's face it, the musical content of AI exports is already miles ahead of your average noob bedroom producer demos. Just a matter of time until you can get those exports as high quality WAVs, with some premium subscription or something.

To guess what it will be looking like, maybe some labels (mostly those who just seek for quantity) will even 'create' fake AI artists and release AI tracks that way.

Thats scary. The vocal stuff that is generating is crazy - those tracks he made could easily be played on UK pop radio and be in the charts. My only question is - does it provide WAV quality tracks,or is it all lo-fi grainy stuff? He right when he says look what this will be like in a year or so....
He mentions that it is lo -fi grainy. I mean I was able to create this cheesy trance track using AI

haha, any euro trance producer couldve made that - its crazy.
What's more crazy and sad is that I was able ask AI to make a track that sounds better than someone who has been producing for over 30 years (comparing only their current sounds). You can download WAV but you need to be a paid subscriber for Udio.

The extended mix came out slightly differently Into the Night extended mix

if we're talking Hollywood they have relatively strong professional communities that will strike the hell out of it, some celebs are already spreading AI awareness, so the premium tier guys will probably secure their income, maybe not fully but still. as for the others, less protected, they are sure fucked.
And it's a loosing battle. It's not a matter of if, but when it will happen. I believe Disney is already using something similar to the AI's for symphony music, can't remember if it was mentioned here.

Wot da hell, this sounds good. It might be bad for producers, but it opens endless possibilities for DJs. Imagine being able to DJ amazing sets and online stream and DJ without worry for copyrights. Even Youtube can suck it!

I tried using the DB Boulevard lyrics as a test and I got a copyright strike on udio.

I am amazed that this is not copyrighted. But this is done really well. It sounds legit but it's not.

Plagiarizing and ripping off melodies has been going on forever. I remember many threads on the TranceAddict forums over the past 23 years calling out a lot of this. While most often nobody seems to care, there are those that do. I won't give names, but I know of many producers in this industry who have been called out by the original creators of vocal lines or melodies used in a new production without their permission. In most of these cases, if the producer tried to justify it, something many sadly did, legal action was threatened, and the content was removed in the final release.

Now with the advent of AI, we have a whole new world of plagiarism to deal with. Just yesterday, I became aware of a 2-month-old YouTube comment on my track "Magnus - First Born" informing me that Suno AI had apparently learned my song and was generating similar copies of it based on text prompts. I wrote that song for my son 14 years ago, so this made me sad. 😞

I feel like creativity is all but dead. From now on, everyone will question if any artistic creation was assisted in part or in whole by AI. I don't like this new world we live in, and there's no going back.

@Magnus

I thought i would discuss this topic here since @Jetflag linked it originally. I can assure you there are some sounds it cannot emulate like for instance I tried to ask it emulate Chicane Leaving town and Saltank and Roger Shah and it spat out a bunch of garbage. I assume you've heard those tracks which are similar and I am really sorry that you feel that way I honestly didn't know that it i did before It made me a track similar to stay by sash! which made me realise that it's just copying other artists work. I tried that on udio and it came up with actual dogshit.

Thanks for the comments. And I agree with you as I have tried what I believe to be most of the major AI music options in this space just so I stay aware, and at least at this stage, they do indeed produce a lot of shit. But just with AI generated art and how it started out pretty bad to where it is now, I think music is not far behind. I noticed some have a source track option, but the results are pretty terrible. Eventually AI will generate several variations that are all solid based on a source track you feed it. I'm glad we are not there yet, but it's just a matter of time.

yeah good luck with that lol. I can remember metallica trying to sue Napster and look where that got them. Its like the sabots and the machines baby.. you aint stoppin' this, you're just slowing it down, at best.

I just look at the hobby carpenter down the street and the toys he makes for children.

"Yes but th3 fact0ry in Tsj1nah m4kes t0ys ten timEs bettur and fastur and chEapur bruh!"

I don't care 🙂, I'll buy something from the guy, who has a desk job like me on the side by the way.. for my kids every now and again 💕

This is another impressive song just needs a bit of adjustment I would have begun the intro El Camino as the lyrics. But it sounds like it would have been hit back in the early 60- 80's

you guys were talking about AI sites allowing for WAV exports on premium accounts. This has already started to happen. I haven’t used udio.com for a couple of weeks and a few days ago i noticed it only allows me to download MP3 on my free account, and requires a subscription for WAV

I remember back in the early 2000s I didn’t mind MP3s, but the low sound quality becomes very obvious now:
