Emerging UK trance producer Alex Wright returns to Anjunabeats with ‘Palau’.
Nottingham-based trance DJ and producer Alex Wright made his Anjunabeats debut last year with ‘Electropia’ as part of the Anjunabeats Rising 17 EP, which saw spins from Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Cosmic Gate, Farius and more.
He followed that up with ‘Camelback’, a track that Above & Beyond went on to support extensively at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Dreamstate USA and Transmission Festival Elysium, as well as at their headline show at Drumsheds (London) to 15,000 people for BBC Radio 1 Dance.
Across his career, Alex has released on an array of respected labels including Always Alive, DSR, FSOE Fables, Pure Trance and AVA White, and has also seen support from Paul van Dyk, Chicane, Aly & Fila and Solarstone. This year, Alex played a set at iconic London venue Fabric alongside Thrillseekers and Ferry Corsten, as well as at Nottingham’s Tunnel Club.
"Above & Beyond has been my favourite artist since I was 13 years old, and since then, my ultimate goal has been to release music on Anjunabeats. My label debut 'Electropia' encouraged me to follow my instincts when writing tracks so that I make them with the inspiration of what I’d like to hear on the dancefloor. It was another huge buzz when I heard that Above & Beyond had been playing 'Camelback' at various shows in 2023. 'Palau' is another result of following my intuition when producing; I’m a huge believer in strong percussion grooves making people dance, and I try to reflect that in my tunes." - Alex Wright
