Altair - Wild and Free [2019]

This is a track that I once posted on the old forum, so I thought I'd repost it here too. Was something originally inspired by a pirated Kesha vocal stem (from which I synthesized the pad sounds), and which I sat on for about three years before I buckled down and finished it. At one point an old schoolmate came over and kindly added some guitar. And since I don't finish anywhere near as much music as I'd like to admit, this song and my more recent Frozen Fire from last December I consider my two best works so far.

Soundwise it's mostly my own take on the concept pioneered by the likes of Eco and Breakfast - "big sky" epic uplifting trance with a touch of post rock. (The lead synth preset I even named "Ecoesque"). I deliberately made the climax to feel like it couldn't contain the power of its own emotion, to conjure the feeling of running wild and free toward a sunset.

most things i absolutely adore.

the pads, the guitar the ambience, the drive, the drums etc.

the only thing thats a miss for me is the, in my eyes to sudden and dry pandora snipped followed by the "feel it vox"

Thanks man! The Avatar sample right before the drop was a spur-of-the-moment thing yes, and it sounds that way because I used a heavy vocal isolation filter in Audacity (nowadays I have an AI tool for that which can do much better). What can I say, I like brief fake-outs before drops

When you say "will support", does that mean you might slip this song into a set? If so, I can't tell you how much I'd appreciate that!

Definitely has Eco vibes (combined Wolves and The Best Things In Life Are Free with his earlier DJ Eco days). Can't remember what my comment was exactly on the old place, but I'm liking this.

Yes, it has some rough edges and it's not 100% finished in my eyes, but it has potential.
