Don’t read that much manga, only a couple, and is due to the fact that I liked the anime so much I couldn’t just wait. But anime, have watched around 30-40 and for me, it is almost impossible to have a clear top 10 due to the number of titles I like but I know for a FACT these have marked me and are written in stone so far:

  • Shingeki no Kyojin
  • Cowboy Bebop
  • Samurai Champloo
  • Vinland Saga
  • Hellsing: Ultimate
  • Mob Psycho 100
  • Steins; Gate
  • Hunter x Hunter
  • Death Note
  • Code Geass
  • Street Fighter II Movie
  • Ghost in the Shell
  • Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
  • Tengan Toppa Gurren Laggan
  • One Punch Man
  • Baccano
  • Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)
  • Jujutsu Kaisen
  • My Hero Academia
  • Dragon Ball/Z/GT
  • Drifters
  • Dr Stone

2 memorable animes I watched in recent years

Made in Abyss (manga/anime series)
It’s about an adventure into the abyss (a strange, mysterious, unexplored place in the world, where the environment gets harsher as they go deeper). But don’t get fooled by the cute character design. It has serious storyline and some brutal scenes.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (anime series)
There are several JJBA series with different main characters, but they're still related. It’s an action fantasy anime with one strong differentiator: it’s not about getting stronger over and over again to beat the enemy, but instead how to outsmart them. So there’s always some kind of twist in every fight. For an intro, I think JJBA Stardust Crusader might be a good start. Just check some scenes on YouTube.

For Manga, I don’t read that much, but used to like some horror manga like Junji Ito’s Uzumaki, Gyo, Tomie, and so on just because the story is super creepy and fucked up.

Im a big anime fan but i am really picky when it comes to anime shows. Most i dont care much for. Dragonball will always be my favorite franchise. There is a new series coming out this year, but it looks kind of like a ripoff off of some of the plotlines from GT.

Started rewatching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure last year, as my gf hadn't seen it, and I'd only seen it up to part 5. Wholly enjoy the series, I'd even say it's my personal favorite. Part 5 prolly my favorite now. Only issue is the localized/censored stand names in the Netflix subs of part 6, that made us pause it after watching part 1 (it had fansubs, the other parts didn't, and I'm still looking for corrected fansubs)

Other than that I've seen Hellsing Ultimate, Baccano, Death Note, Inuyashiki, Initial D, Hunter x Hunter, FMA Brotherhood, One Punch Man, Mob Psycho, the movies Spirited Away & Akira (our cinema had a special 4k Screening of it last weekend that I went to)

I also started but didn't finish:
Steins Gate, Cowboy Bebop, Ergo Proxy, My Hero Academia. But I tried all of them at a time where I had difficulty sticking to a show I'm watching. I plan to revisit them sometime in the near future

Lastly, I watched Parasyte: The Maxim but utterly hated the main protagonist.

Thanks for reviving it. I have been busy with my learning courses at the moment like doing 2 courses atm. I am an anime fan I haven't see any.

I saw some horrible anime shows which have some really graphic killing so I stopped watching that one but I have forgotten the name of it.

But I thought I would post this video here.

Atm I am mostly into thrash isekai '' Thats some hot garbage there, but I can't stop watching it :) ''

But apart from that, here are some shows that blew my mind recently:

On the fantasy side:

Hell's Paradise

Goblin Slayer

Berserk of Gluttony

Just good old fun:

Spy Family - it's a hilarious anime

BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. - funny as hell

My New Boss is Goofy - best slice of life from last year

I probably have a ton more, but I somehow watched 125 animes last year - I don't know how I managed, honestly it's such a sad brag :)

I've been meaning to watch this one for a while now:

Huge anime/manga fan, but extremely picky. 95% of it is so bad and so generic, especially in the last 20 years. Have very little tolerance for this kiddy stuff and hyper polished animations.

Cowboy Bebop, Akira, Berserk, Evangelion, Full Metal Alchemist, Ghost In The Shell... these are the classics and still blow anything out the water we have today. The art direction and approach is just a joy for the eyes, and of course the stories are mature and have depth too.

There are some modern ones I enjoy though, mainly Attack on Titan and Vinland Saga.

Watched Redo of Healer few months ago. I thought the premise was interesting, a healer who’s usually a supporting role now becomes the main character. But then what started as a revenge story turns into nsfw so quickly 🤐

Yeah it's a good show, the censored version at least, because the uncensored is basically hen**i.

Everyone that wants to check out some new animes, Solo Leveling just started and its confirmed 24 episodes, a lot of people say that the Korean novel it's based on is quite good and from the first two episodes it seems promising.

hyper polished animations.
That's also something I have observed and also the dubbing is not what it used to be as well. I miss how anime was drawn with real pencil and you could see the each individual drawings and textures as well. It made them more human too. Hence why I have moved onto Mangas of old and I am reading them. There are some shows which are extremely graphic.

This is not kiddy stuff NSFW either

Btw I can give you a better example why a healer can be stronger. The anime was very fun and chill, almost extending to a slice of life. The show is called ''The Great Cleric''

After his untimely death, this salaryman gets another shot at life! When Luciel is reborn into a magical new land, he becomes a healer in hopes of leading a peaceful life. However, he quickly learns that being a healer is much more challenging than he expected. With strict and strenuous training in store, this new life is turning out to be anything but peaceful.

Without dropping spoilers he uses healing, not just as a skill, but to train harder and push himself to become stronger using healing on himself.

There is new show ''The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic''

An ordinary walk home from school turns into an epic journey for Usato. After suddenly being dropped into another world with two fellow students, Usato learns he was summoned there by accident. But things turn around when he discovers a unique aptitude for healing magic! Now, he trains beyond human limitations, using his self-healing abilities to gain absurd strength and unrivaled stamina.

I am just starting it, but I think it might be similar to ''The Great Cleric''.

Anyone watch Scavengers Reign recently? Fantastic concept design and sci-fi art direction. Decent story too. Worth a watch

I watched the first two episodes and I've got to say it really looks great. Normally I binge shows, but this one gives me the heebie-jeebies. Its so grotesque and eerie, but kind of beautiful.

It actually reminds me of something I've watched as kid, but I can't figure out what it was. I really love the art style, even if its technically not anime.

I really like the OST for the Goblin Slayer made from the same project, but this is probably my favourite anime OST. This is on another level
