Since I am the only otaku here I feel like I need to push this thread a bit more.

I am watching Clannad/Clannad After Story and I have to say the OST seems to be amazing. I think the anime is so sad, uplifting and impactful thanks to the amazing soundtrack that it borows from the visual novels it's based on.

Clannad Original Soundtrack
The Clannad Original Soundtrack, from the visual novel Clannad, was first released on August 13, 2004 in Japan by Key Sounds Label bearing the catalog numbers KSLA-0012—0014.[1] The soundtrack contains three discs totaling fifty-six songs composed, arranged, and produced by Jun Maeda, Shinji Orito, and Magome Togoshi.[4] Tracks nine through nineteen on disc three are considered to be bonus tracks. Riya provides vocals for three songs, "Mag Mell", "-Kage Futatsu-", and "Chiisana Tenohira"; Lia provides vocals for the song "Ana".

I'm not particularly in to manga or anime anymore, but this is one was and still is my absolute favourite.

If any of you anime nerds havent watched the original Evangelion series I would highly recommend that. Love the chaotic and twisted vibe of this fan made trailer. You can't watch that and tell me you're not interested in giving it a go!

I think I'll ruin my reputation in this forum, but here it is😅. I love cheesy melancholic shoujo manga/anime like Kanon, Air, Kobayashi is so cute that it's painful! Yeah, shoot me now, I'm ready💀

Decided to start looking more at the western output for graphic novels recently, and started with Slaine: The Horned God. I used to raid my uncles 2000 AD collection back when I was very young and always tried to find the Slaine chapters. I mean just look at how good the artwork is. Raw, British style, that I prefer to the US stuff. This is essentially a UK take on Conan the Barbarian.

It has some of the best artwork I have ever seen brought to print, and the dialogue and lore is fantastic. Not the most mind-blowing story, as it is a short book, but for the time (1986) I think it was one of the best ever made.

Rewatched 'The End Of Evangelion' recently, first time in a while. When "Komm, Susser Tod" plays over that sequence near the end, I didn't know whether to come or cry.

I then found out that there's a remix of the song in the Exit Trance compilations, and it is electric. No. 1 in the car right now.

Worth noting that 'The End Of Evangelion' is the alternate ending for 'Neon Genesis Evangelion', and in my opinion the best one.

DId you watch the movies? Thought 1.0 and 2.0 were amazing, and at times better than the series, but 3.0 was a bit dodgy and then 4.0 a train wreck. Was really hoping in 4.0 they would sort of reflect on the series and go for something more grounded, less bloated, more sensical but they sort of made it even worse haha.

Started rereading Blame! The premise is so cool... an AI goes out of control and starts building uncontrollably outwards consuming everything in its path, to the degree that it moves past the moon (consumes it for materials) and is at an unknown size when the book takes places (could be solar system size). Humans live inside the structure but are considered rodent like and exterminated when found. The dark art style, create concepts and architectural panels are just amazing, even if the story leaves much for desire. Worth reading for the art.

if you like that sort of stuff, might I recommend Don lawrence's work? his Trigan empire /Storm saga's are some of my favorites
