Are 138/140/Steroid/Generic Uplfiting styles the most popular sub-genre of Trance in the scene right now?

Would love to crunch the numbers and really see exactly how popular this style is, how much demand actually exists. I know markets dictate products but music is kinda different as the product is created entirely from artistic individuals, most of which make the music they want to make and that appeals to them, rather than because some label has told them exactly what to make. The desire to make what you want is more powerful than the desire to appease to them labels I would guess. How even powerful is the market? It doesn't seem obvious that it is. Selling 20-30 tracks on beatport is probably above average right? Is that really enough to incentivise people towards a style they don't naturally gravitate towards artistically...?

I want to know who released the very first steroid trance track.

A) Photographer - Airport.
B) Darren porter releases prior to Airport.
C) None of above.

With the nuance that Selu Vibra actually has a sophisticated melody and breakdown. Pretty nice.
