Quite agree with the wise words (above) from my brother from another mother, and another father as well. Now that I've think about it, he's not really my brother, but he's a really nice guy. I think. I've never met him really.

Way too safe, that melody was destined for better productions. This is just way too average, the vocals fit better in Armin's pop works than this.

Hmm
I kinda like the melody and happy vibe.
That being said, the vocals are bad, and the backbone for this track is weak. It's the same 138 uninspired, cookie-cutter steroid stuff. The vocals are especially boring - I don't leave thinking "damn, that guy has an awesome voice." I think "this guy has the same voice as every pop guy that sings softly."
A ~2004 era trance track with this same melody, vibe, and no vocals would have worked fine.

(More proof that diversity is needed in trance, imo.)

From 6:00 onwards it sounds great. The rest of the track before that is just OK and the vocals awful, might as well be from any of his pop music, why not something more serious for Rising Star hmmmm

absolutely horrible pop voice. The rest of the track is a little bit better but nothing to remember. Rising Star alias was another thing!!!

please no more armin

we need to build a new scene.
We really need an underground scene.
Back in early 2001 trance had a good balance between the mainstream and a healthy underground scene (ex. progressive). Now it's just boring bangers

Sure, we'll have that once producers give up their need to be exposed, listened to by many and earn some cash if possible. Like, never. Whoever makes music just for themselves (or, god forbid, for the sake of music itself) anymore?

Lol I'm the one that would have said that exact comment.
What I'm saying is, in the past you could do those three things (gain exposure, be listened to by many, and maybe earn some cash) even in the underground scene. Now no one is even trying.

Manyyyyyyyy artists. The majority I would bet are like this. The love will always be in contention with trying to make a living so balances might be struck sometimes, but thats ok. Id say the problem is more artists have bad skill or taste rather than bad intentions.

Even Armin will have love for music in his heart still, who couldn't when you've done what he's done.

everybody's opinion above is totally respectful and i might agree it is an average track with the vocals as most of the Rising star tunes the last few years.
In my opinion the intro/ontro and many elements on the melody on this remix are decent and way above the level of the majority of the trance producers today.
Anyways i will spend sometime on the weekend create a dub mix and add on my playlist since i believe it has some massive elements that i really liked there and by the way doesn't sound any "happy" or "easy" at all. ;)

Always appreciate a share regardless. Be boring if we all liked the same stuff 👍🏼

I think there is a lot of ego and/or business between a producer and his output. Some do love what they are doing but are so focused on themselves that they don't really look on their music from the outside. So whenever on TranceFix critiques their work, we're all haters for not liking the absolute same music that could've been made by anybody that doesn't bring anything new or creative, or memorable.

Others just cater to the labels/masses, either because they want to become DJs, want to remain relevant (such is this case), or because they want to have their music released which gives them some sense of achievement (truth be told, I also had that for a while).

There's very little selflessness, I'm not hearing a lot of producers who want to contribute to music, who want to express themselves through their music. Or rather, all producers express themselves, though they are expressing what I just wrote above.

I agree on this, I was going to write the same thing. This track does have some nice elements which distinguish it from the usual 138 steroids of these days, and also some reminiscence of the Rising Star sound. I think that Armin still has it, when he wants.
But yeah, unfortunately the vocals don't fit at all and they are too cheesy. Also it seems to me that there are some issues with the mastering/eq, while Armin usually always has perfectly mastered songs. A bit of a shame.
