Description

There's got to be something in the Scandinavian air. It's been proved countless times - some of the best trance tracks hail from Sweden, Norway, Denmark or any other country from the cold Northern region.

If you need some warm quality trance sounds, keep your ears out for Björn Akesson, who's filling the Future Sound of Egypt label with a new release: 'Painting Pyramids'. 3 years after his debut track, 'Perfect Blue' on the A State of Trance label, and many impressive Future Sound of Egypt tracks later, Björn presents an Egyptian inspired track.'Painting Pyramids', a tempting uplifting piece, focuses on eastern melodies in the break. They add a mysterious, magical feel to the track, before returning to a marvelous fast beats and bold bass.

Hailing from Tokio, Asian producer Nhato added his production polish to 'Painting Pyramids'. He delivers a tech-translation of the track, giving a completely different swing to the original.
Was a bit surprised to not see this here yet, so decided to add it myself. This was the track of 2011, and frankly still holds up very well all these years later. I don't mind the Nhato remix, but the original is by far my favorite.

The Nhato mix isn't really doing it for me, but the original is amazing!

I've always been a massive fan of Akesson; Sunchaser and Perfect Blue are still some of the best modern uplifting tracks and this one doesn't disappoint either. I remember when it came out, it was played on pretty much every trance radio station, it was huge!

The melody has a weird "Egyptian" vibe to it. I don't know what makes it "Egyptian", but it does somehow. So yeah, the title is well chosen.

The beat/bass work is rather standard in the track, but the melody stands out. So for this generic-138-genre I'd say this is a very nice one.

It's one of the better 138 tracks. I also have the feeling that it wouldn't have felt as generic back in 2011.
