2.5/10
No pointless and non-constructive posts pls mate
why asking if you know what that means? just play by the ruleshow is it pointless? what if i wrote 7/10 instead? its as pointless as people who write "nice tracks" or " i like it".... but I know what you mean

That will be perfect if Daysleeper and the like minded crowd can have their own section to themselves lmao and can only comment in Threads with majority voting 7.5 or higher anything lower than that he should be automatically banned from adding a comment on those thread him or any user if they've rated the release lower than 6 or 7 it means its most likely going to be negative let's avoid it and the voting system should be forced on every comment unless you can specify for it to only trigger / prompt for vote on their first comment.. just some random ideasYeah tbh I don't like telling you or anyone off, as if I have some sort of authority over what ppl can write, but you know how users can feel. You know you hate this kind of Trance so it really is pointless to come here just to state it again. Writing 7/10 is fine because it shows support, good vibes and usually I find people add more than just a positive rating. Just to be clear, you can definitely explain why a track is shit, and in great detail if you want, but it can feel relentless and bit redundant after the 100th time and I think why some users are more sensitive.
Btw I am still motivated to make a change to this section, where you can filter out certain labels, style, or maybe I have subsections. We have some nice big updates coming hopefully before the end of the year and once those are done I will figure it out. Hoping to encourage more underground sharing and less generic stuff (more quality)
to be fair, when someone like daysleeper is talking his random expert shit, anyone with producer's experience would easily get he has no clue about the actual producing process and these nonsense posts is his best creative output for entire life so I fail to see how this helps the scene.@Trance4Ever - I am still happy for people to rip into tracks and point out why they are shit. Our scene has a big big issues with creativity, mediocrity, sound design and so much more. Forums are a perfect place to express it and when the problem has been going on for 15+ years it is understandable appropriate for people to want to vent and point that out. But at some point it can feel redundant/pointless, so we can try and aim to strike a balance.

I'm not saying you're not allowed to post criticism if you're not a producer yourself, I'm saying that it's not gonna change a thing for those who are making music bc it's the big labels who dictate the trends, not even the listeners and definitely not some snobby critics online. the marketing machine is now so powerful that it can literally dictate what's gonna be the next trending thing, it doesn't evolve naturally as it used to be just a few years ago. this way it's more safe for the majors as they can plan things ahead. the whole '90s sound' trending thing is a completely artificial, marketing driven entity, same goes for that 150+ bpm cheesy stuff that's also on the rise. it's not like there has been a huge demand on that stuff from the listeners. it's the majors like Armada who literally puts it like 'we're gonna create a new trend and you've gonna like and gonna listen to it because we'll say that it's cool and it's the new hottest sound'.I don't really understand producing either, but I don't need to be a chef to know good food, or a footballer to know good football. End of the day he is regularly spot on with his criticisms, and I relate to how he thinks, as do others. Personally I have no issue with his commentary and critiquing, only when it becomes brutally relentless.
If you're talking about the recent Calvin Harris tracks etc. I can somewhat agree, those are definitely trend hoppers. The whole '90s sound' trending thing is a completely artificial, marketing driven entity, same goes for that 150+ bpm cheesy stuff that's also on the rise. it's not like there has been a huge demand on that stuff from the listeners. it's the majors like Armada who literally puts it like 'we're gonna create a new trend and you've gonna like and gonna listen to it because we'll say that it's cool and it's the new hottest sound'.
