It's a proud day when Borderline can bring a brand new Coredata track and his latest piece of art entitled

Kaleidoscope Skies is here!

Originally written for a now shelved Movement 2 compilation, Kaleidoscope Skies was immediately impactful with that signature Coredata (almost Platipus-esque) sound; a mixture of 909 bassline loveliness and ethereal twinkling synths.

Helping Borderline keep that breadth of trance styles

Coredata delivers again.

mind you all:

" shelved" does not mean "deleted"

Rushing something like that half-heartily would be a terrible choice, and good things come to those who wait. 🙏

As for the track. I instantly got Opus III/ Halcyon on and on era vibes from this when first hearing 💕 Its so lovely to hear quality music in this genre still being made.

truly nice track, but it deserves much better mastering, this one is degrading and with just the right mastering this track has a potential to go much further than just some irelevant internet radio shows

I wish fans/consumers had a choice in this in terms of selection process say for top 3 masters chosen by the Producer / Label A&r (prior to it going on promo of course).

Perhaps this master was prepared to sound in a certain way in line with the rest of the tracks in the mix (as it was originally suppose to be part of the Movement 2 compilation).

Well, this might be even better than the Talking Waves track I just heard. Pure fire sounds and oldskool journey. But I am very concerned with the mastering too, something is off.

Delay this tunes release and please fix it @Activa, it has the potential to be the track of the year.

It's so good. The 4 mins preview felt like it was just 1 min.
Loving the expressiveness on this. Definitely a strong TOTY contender.

Yes very expressive and quality track writing. A level above 99% of the scene.

But now that the mastering has been mentioned I definitely hear those complaints. Doesnt even sound like Borderline in a way.

for the record, I master all my own tracks myself, and this one is no exception. I pride myself in being a completely DIY musician and producer and I approach every one of my tracks differently, whether that be fine tuning each kick for each track or creating a patch from scratch etc... I do this as I don't want to output the same old factory produced sounding music. Rob is a legend in the game and I have nothing but admiration and respect to the man for letting me deliver my own vision and creative decisions in my Borderline releases, so please let that be known.

I don't hear any issues with the sound here, it's a well balanced master and a nice track first of all
I think he is referring to the sample on bandcamp. It could be the bandcamp sample. Bandcamp has some atrocious samples sometimes.
