Strangelove is also my pick, but not the cup of tea I prefer overally, its quite "strange" you know :D but kudos for trying to sound very original and unique :)

Two of my favorite tracks, and Strangelove is THE top of mine in 2024.

Strangelove has 3/4 time signature, which is rare in these four on the floor genres like trance/techno/... This track is really opening me up to a wide world of possibility, of making very proper three-beat rhythms without breaking the completeness of the track. It was almost a month after the release that I found that the track is in 3/4 signature.

Interestingly enough, this is not the first time Coredata has produced a three-beat track. The first one is "iO (3-Fold Mix)" in 2018. But that one is so artificial that it didn't caught my attention until the release of Strangelove.

Fractal Reconfiguration was the one that I prefer right after the release. Everything just goes deeper and deeper in the progression. As Coredata's wizardry takes place, it went even darker and more magical. In my perspective, this should be how a deep trance track is supposed to progress. There are even comments in the Chinese platform that goes like "can Coredata switch to IDM".

After my recent listening to some Platipus tracks, I have found quite a similarity between the first half of Fractal Reconfiguration and "Haagen Daaz" by Art of Trance (released in 1996). I am wondering if @Coredata has got any influence from this track. Based on the similarity, my love for Fractal Reconfiguration has now spread onto the "Haagen Daaz" track, and I have started to listen to both tracks over and over again.

I have posted a comment after I found out that similarity, its English translation is as follows:
Title: Old Platipus and New Coredata

Content:
Recently, while listening to music, I noticed a strong resemblance between the old track "Art of Trance - Haagen Daaz" and the first half of Coredata's "Fractal Reconfiguration."
This shows that Coredata's innovations aren't groundless, but rather based on the already radical Platipus label's older material from a decade or two ago. Coredata also says he's learned a lot from Platipus.

On the one hand, I need to "do more archaeology" (dig more old tracks). While those classic mainstream trance tracks were enjoyable, they didn't cultivate my interest in digging old tracks. Now that I've discovered that older tracks can also serve as benchmarks for innovation, I need to open my eyes.
On the other hand, Coredata has announced that he'll be working on something truly detached and personal, outside of mainstream labels. He'll also be performing in the UK this November, featuring his own work and remixes of older material. Let's wait and see.
Both tracks are first played in 2021. They are found in JOOF Radio Episode 017 (2021-04-14), but they are not released until 2024 when JOOF has gone through 500 releases. (This release has catalogue JOOF500)

Fractal Reconfiguration in 1:00:17, Strangelove in 1:34:13, and there's a track that I couldn't recognize (maybe unreleased till now?) starting from 1:50:00.

Hi Sean,

Yes, great spot! Haagen Daaz is one of my favourite tracks from AoT and this was a big inspiration in the production of Fractal Reconfiguration.

Once again, many thanks for the very kind words about my music, it definitely gives me boosts of motivation to keep going!

All the best,

Jonny
