I like how you say ‘the trance community likes it.’

Are we not a trance community?

Question two: the original does not fit in your sets? If so, why not?

Unless I am playing a classics set, I wouldn't be dropping in the original mix. Most of my sets are focused on modern trance featuring the best new uplifting and tech trance releases, and for djs like me, it's great to have fresh remixes or reworks of classics in a set

By 'fresh' remixes and reworks you mean they all have the same kick so they are easier to mix?

Whilst I am not saying this is groundbreaking or better than the original, it’s fresh and shorter which makes it better for today’s trance scene.

It’s a good update on an all time classic. If you don’t like, it don’t play it - simple.

Got it, TikTok Trance.

But I do agree with you. It will be better for new tranceheads with the attention span of a goldfish. (I agree with your statement, I will not be listening to this, "DuMonde" just caught my eyes)

it’s mind boggling really, that people who claim to be trance fanatics, would substitute the characteristic powerful beats from Dumondewith extremely generic shit…

It’s not like it had a soft beat, and you want a hard beat. It’s already a hard beat…

The difference is a hard kick with character, versus a hard kick with zero character as it’s the most generic type.

If you are deejaying and doing a trance set, your tracks really don’t have to contain the same kick sound. It makes your set monotone and boring.

Also, how is it ‘fresh’ when it uses the generic beats that are being used since like 2013 by… all producers in that ‘typical style’.

its not fresh at all, its the opposite. The beats in the original are fresh. Play that in your set, and it will stand out, as it’s NOT sounding like all other, which means fresh?

Its just the 'trendy' thing to do for DJs these days to play the modern rework of something - to be with the 'in' crowd....even though the original is miles better.

One thing id say though, sometines its really hard to get a 'decent' sounding copy of a really old track - some are really low in volume and quality, with bad compression issues...which makes it hard to play alongside modern stuff. Ive found myself raising the volume of an old track +3 DB to match others, and even then it sounds out of place.

Theres some horrendous sounding old Trance classics you can buy from Beatport - and in some cases its the only way you can get hold of the track.

Well, Dumonde had a very special sound. I dont have any problem with this remix. But we should take in consideration that modern trance is boring. Take the example of Minimal techno from Europe. Many of the producers are producing music like 20 25 years ago. Unique style. Different kick rythm ,effects pads etc, makes a very big impact. The best tracks from minimal techno are on vinyl and they are released right now in Germany. Trance music should be the same.

New version doesn't do much for me, albeit clean in production.

nice to see them back though.

Well, as an active DJ this rework is perfect for sets and I've dropped it in one already.

Interesting opinions guys. Cheers
Why do producers and producers play and create tracks which are like of the current sound or liked by the majority of the mass? I thought the whole point of djing was meant for artistic expression and what they wanted the crowd to listen to or making the set or tracks memorable because it has a certain a memory in the present not what's currently 'trendy'. I suppose they are trying to stay relevant but personally I didn't fall in with the genre because of the current trendy sound I fell in love with the genre because the tracks sounded amazing in the present moment not what's currently trending.

There is nothing ground breaking about these kinds of tracks and this goes for the chaotic electro/edm noise or screaming contest with the vocals that is currently the trend when it comes vocal electronic dance music in the commercial or non commercial scene.

Tiktok trance I like that or Tiktok EDM or dance music I think this is what modern day EDM should be called since most radio edits are now only 2 mins short.

Well, people have lost patience and I love long tracks the long and more spaced out the better.

SPOT on but this modern day dance music should be called Tiktok EDM just like most of the stuff played by Armin should be called Tiktok EDM.

ofc this is not the same duo as in the 2000's
DuMonde returned to the scene in 2024 with the single 'Sometimes'. The project now consists of founding member Jürgen Mutschall with studio assistance from compatriot, German producer and audio engineer Daniel Körber (aka. D.Mand).
the founding member never produced a track himself, so all this is made by the new member

Daysleeper's comment is the funniest by far in all of this. He's not wrong though.

@TRANCEBLASTER what kind of nonsense are you talking about, DuMonde always produced everything together, the two of them always sat together in the studio. and I know that 100%...
The new tracks are also created together!
if you know something different, explain it here, I would be interested, hahaha

Yeah all they really did here is just take the stems from the original and put it over a more modern kick and 16th note bassline. Doesn't hit anywhere near as hard as the deep, wubby 8th note bass and kick from the original. Really was no need for this; old classics can fit into modern sets just as they are.
