Somehow I missed this and it sounds like oldschool Balearic uplifting trance with the likes of Janeiro and Solarcoaster, salt tank eugina but it just needs a bit of tweak here and there. But good effort. Congrats for being featured on Solarstone's radioshow

Slipped past my radar too. Another great track. You’ve been on fire this year, how many tracks in the end from you. A big step up from the previous years and I am still eagerly anticipating the album. The roster of producers from the known trance scene should pay attention on how to actually make Trance music. It’s silly that there is only one producer in the whole scene that can make music like this.

That's exactly what it is, old production methods with a mastering using modern methods.
It's no easy chore though mate, the amount of hours gone into this one track I'd probably say over all took 6-7 weeks to produce, done between work and free time, I even had my floppy disk fail at one point. Then on top all the video editing, artwork, getting it ready to go live etc.
It was a chore, but really pleased with the outcome.
Is it possible to create or recreate old productions and using how they mastered back in the day? Because I would love to learn to recreate that sound. Call me crazy or insane but that warm sound of old trance is truly magic easier on the heart just like how Janeiro was back in the day.

I don't think you should focus on the mastering so much.

With a good mixdown you can already make something very oldschool sounding.

With bad mastering however they can empathize on the kick to make it more standout, or give it more mid/high frequency, so it 'thumps' more. So that makes it "modern". But you should just call that bad mastering. With good mastering, it would not change your feel about it being oldschool or not.

Focus on the sounds. The drums, the synths, the melodies. That's where you make it sound oldschool. Not mastering.

There's no special 'way' to create it. There was multiple different methods back then just as there is now, it's just that most, if not all, tracks atleast went through some kinda of mixing desk and was mostly hardware based. Early 00's software still crept in but hardware was still a major factor.
Before mastering the production was mixed down on to a DAT. Then it went off to a mastering engineer.

I personally would love to hear this sound. I am using this set as an example the warm and richness and pleasant in the ears too compared to most productions these days which are too loud or thumpy for me. I miss hearing those warm crash cymbals and lovely authentic sounds.

I just dont know. With Citra in our last release it took a ton of feedback and asks in order to mantain the oldschool feel that the pre-master version had. Yes all the drums, synths and arrangements kept it still feeling oldschool, but I was shocked at how much the character of the track could change after I got the master back. Changes to the frequency, staging and general execution of the mastering produced like two different tracks. One warm and soft, the other cold and hard.

^ which you should simply call “bad mastering”.

There are a lot of hobbyists (including known names) offering mastering services but that says nothing about their skills. A lot of guys just push a track through a pre-set, which is a direct disqualification, as each track has its own needs.

Fair enough. The master didnt even sound bad, just more modern and supercharged than the original. If I had never heard the premaster I wouldnt even think twice. But I was surprised at how much power mastering has in changing the characteristic of a track. Ive said it before but I wonder how many of the so called 'steroid' tracks could actually turn out to be quite nice (or at least passable) if a different mastering approach was taken.
