Well, this is an easy one.
Ferry Corsten had a big responsibility on his shoulders. After his last Gouryella single in 2002, for 13 years everyone wondered if there would sooner or later be a new Gouryella single and if it would live up to expectations.
We finally had our answer in 2015. And of course, Ferry absolutely nailed it.

Anahera is one of the very very few post-2010-tracks that is a true trance classic as big as any 99 classic. Simply magical.

I still remember when this came out. Couldn’t believe Ferry had revived that old school sound at the time. Hope he makes a new one soon.

has it really already been close to a decade since this game out. :0

I disagree. Its not a classic (for me okok). It might be for younger guys, but its terribly mixed and mastered. Everything is just out of proportion. Every sound competes for the main-attention. The bassline sounds really robotic and transformers-like, not like hte bubbly warm one we hear in his old G tunes.

I dont think it sounds oldschool at all btw. Atleast not sonically. Very far from it.

it sounds as perfect, excellent, and amazing in your headphones compared to his older ones?

You cant be for real if you say this sounds better than for example ligaya (ferry remix). It feels like you dont wanna admit it doesnt sound as good, thats why you gave that "it sounds great live" answer... a bit deceptive imo. I dont trust people who judge sonic quality of music on a live concert/party. It doesnt work that way.

But ofc, each to their own. I dont understand one bit people who says this sounds better than the old ones.

It sounds slightly more modern, sure. The bass is indeed a little less ‘alive’.

The beats lack a little punch, like many newer stuff. The old kicks and claps and hats often seem to… bring more. More punch, character.

I know exactly what you mean usually. But I try to conclude in a more positive way. This track is a great classic.

The main synth in Anahera, is just lovely and superb sounding.

As a humble music listener (I am no producer or sound engineer) I have to agree that the mastering sounds slightly off for me too.

I think I remember the hype this one generated back on the old forum. While I don't personally like it (I never liked old Gouryella tracks either), I can understand why people do.
