Than why is it that with teens the reward system of the brain is totally different from adults?
its not, its the same system. the input may be different, but the handling of it is exactly the same.
in fact, its even the same in crustaceans, which is why human anti-depressants work on crabs.

Didn't know that about the crabs, wonder what the effect is.
When a crab/lobster is beaten in a fight, the meds, like in humans, stimulate the dopamine/ endorphine levels, making said crab twice as likely to re-assert his position/ get up and fight again, as opposed to his non-medicated counter parts
