LOL that was not what I expected. I thought it would be a pretty standard 138 tech-trancer.
Never thought Gouryella would get a prog house, Lane 8-style remix. I like the little instrument at 1:58 - you could translate this track very well to a folk remix with real instruments, Meute style.
Matt Fax is definitely on my radar, and I'm looking forward to more content from him!

Agreed! I thought he handled the remix respectfully, a chiller version and different vibe of Gouryella. I like the use of the Moog synths and the beat definitely gets my head bobbing.

It makes me laugh that they will officially release this but wont let me share my chilled versions of the Gouryella tracks which are coming up to around half a million plays on Youtube. It would help if i could somehow contact Ferry but its proving impossible.
Also a fan of Matt, but I have to say this is a pretty bland effort. Adding that it is a remix of one of the finest classics, it makes it even more dull. Listen to his track called To The Ground, which has a lot more groove and energy. A huge difference.
Again I have to question that why are there so many remixes and reworks of classic trance tunes? I don't get it. Money is not the reason, because these tracks don't sell shit and this will be forgotten in a very short time. Well it's better than those generic steroid remixes.

Yeah, I would also like to know the reason behind it. I don think the deadmau5 prog followers like matt fax etc likes Gouryella even.

Well the just name 'Gouryella' on it increases its stature ten fold. Same goes for other classic remakes of big artist names.

They won't sell much of it, maybe, and will get like 10 Euros or something after a year, but they will surely gain in popularity, as Magdelayna can attest. The official release gives it some sort of an approval stamp that can result in some gigs in the future.
That said, the track is nice to listen to in the background, but I'm not a big fan of it - I never even liked Gouryella anyway.
