Enjoyable track, but for some damn reason this track never really did it for me - not sure why

This is one of my favorite Gouryella tracks. It's happy and playful (as opposed to Ligaya, which is melancholic), and it sounds much nicer than Tenshi (which is very supersaw-driven). The bassline is great, too.
To be honest it sounds almost exclusively like a Ferry System F track. I don't really see where Tiesto & co. came in for Walhalla.

Excellent track.

I think I would call Gouryella itself as the 'least best' old Gouryella track. But it's difficult. I really like Walhalla. Great melody. It's both happy and sort of melancholic for me.

To me, this is the best Gouryella track if not the best Ferry track in general, especially in the 2016 remix. The melody is great.

Well I still love the original :) 🙌

The newer 2016 version just doesn't pack the same punch though IMO (the same as with a lot of Ferry's updated classics). Too clean/thin sounding, with a weak clicky kick and somewhat drained of that raw energy. It feels a bit lethargic in comparison.

Many prefer the non vocal version, but I'd love to hear an unplugged version of the vocal mix. Same as what he did with Cry.

Yes, those updated versions sound so poor. I don't know the magic gets removed from them. They sound they've had a bunch of bad VSTs been used. Just listen to the original it has that beautiful breakdown which is pure 80's analogue sound. He uses similar synths for his remix of Calling your name as well.
