I sprained my fucking ankle in one of the more stupider ways. Angry at myself. Can't really lift (without modification), can't run. Idiot!!
Finally managed to recover, went on two runs since...and this evening, I rolled it again. Stupid construction site blocked the pavement so I had to go on uneven ground, I was in a hurry and that same foot just slid in the hole and rolled the ankle.

Why can't life be easy??

Another weird one. Was just moving the (relatively easy) table laterally, and felt a tweak in my lower back, accompanied with pain.

I rest for two days, then went back to the gym, felt the pain worsen and finished the session earlier.

I had these issues on and off for a while. Must be the heavy squats that are the primary cause. I noticed I can sometimes lean too much forward (due to the weight), which can certainly put pressure on the disks, which then put pressure on the nerves.

This all means I might either have to reduce the weight on the bar (by 10-20 percent) to fix the form issues, or change the training program altogether. The former would mean I would not be improving for a while, and the latter would make me lose strength - none of which are optimal. In the end, I might resort to both solutions.

But first - a bit of rest.

In waiting for some proper storms to hit the coast, I’m currently boosting up my stamina and strength.

currently able to do 15 uninterrupted pull-ups, 100 sit-ups, swim 500 m in under 10+ minutes, and run 10 km in under and hour.

aim is to diet my way to 85 kg, do the 500 m swim in under 10 mins, and crank up the pull-ups to 20.

Bought new running shoe online to replace my old one. I didn’t feel comfortable at first, and thought it’s probably still in break-in period. But after 2 weeks running, it becomes painful. I think I got calf strains and need to rest my lower legs. Replacing the insole didn’t seem to work either. I guess plushy shoes isn’t for me.

I've been going to a physical therapist for a few months now. I am doing cardio training and strenght. Feeling great. Have high blood pressure so training is good for keeping that in check.

We've got a group of us who swim in the sea all year round (luckily no sewage outlets where I am). Has huge health benefits. Add that to all the pool swimming too and miles of walks from my front door. Blessed!

Just bought a barefoot sandal (yeah, the irony 😆) and tested for long run. I thought it will be painful, but turns out I enjoyed it a lot. While there's more pressure to the feet, I don't feel all the issues I have when running in shoes. It took me longer to get exhausted and the recovery was also quick.

The problem is how loud it is when it slaps the road 😆. I also got minor blisters, but wrapping my feet with sports bandage should fix it.

Will definitely vary my morning run with it.

I'm back on my CrossFit training, and it feels great! Just a few months ago, I considered to buy wegovy online for weight loss, but now I don't need it. With consistent exercise and improved nutrition, the weight is coming off more easily. CrossFit has been transformative, combining strength, cardio, and community support. Alongside healthier eating habits, I've found a sustainable path to achieving my fitness goals without relying on medication like Wegovy.

My running VO2max is on to 44 (according to my smartwatch). Which is...just ok. The lowest (that I've had measured) was 40 this January, so 44 right now feels great. But I'll definitely try to push more towards 50.

I'm on my third week back to running,
after about 3 months of pause from it.
Now that I'm running again, I struggle to find time and motivation to go to the gym.

I actually love both strength training and running,
but struggling to marry these two..

How often do you do each?

I am trying to find a similar balance myself - currently I go to the gym on Saturday and Sunday, on Thursday I normally have 5-a-side football, and I maybe throw in running some other day. Because it's too hard to book an hour or two for tennis during colder weather, I don't bother.

All these activities motivate me enough to do them at least once a week, and it doesn't feel a burden so far, where I lose most of my day or have to rush all the time.

Running 4 times a week, this week it could be 5 times. When it was warm outside, I often did strength and running at two different times of the same day. So it was about 3:3, 4:3, 3:4, 4:4 in favour of one or another. Depending on how hard the training was, no week was the same as the other.

Currently I'm off strength training for the last couple of weeks, to make my return to running a bit easier.

I made about 3kg of muscle mass this late summer, which is holding up well, even now when I'm only running.

I need to get back to the Gym ASAP though, to keep my high strength per weight ratio and hard earned definition. Especially during the winter I want to be all-round on a high fitness level, also for better mental health.

I am a 125 kgs and struggling to lose weight. I eat veggies and no processed stuff and i have not been able to lose weight. I did notice that I think my struggle might be down to the climate in Australia.
