Well, I'm pretty sure some people here know Mr. Jon 'The Dentist' Vaughn - along with Baby Doc one of the UK pioneers in the 90s who mixtures hardhouse and hardtrance to something unique. He had several releases in this style under similar aliases, I personally call this sound the "Phoenix Trance" - in honor of his related labels Phoenix Rising, Phoenix Uprising and later Pheonix Platinum (for those who dont know). Boscaland Records was his own label and also related to the Phoenix Ones. It was - well - all one scene (at least in the UK of course).
Jon later made wonderful trance tracks, especially in 2002/2003 when he delivers tracks like 'Keeper Of The Sale', 'Atto Primo' or 'Mercury' - all of them are big trance bombs of high quality. You should check them all out!!
The '98 Volume 5 of his UCM Project is an pre-mix of his later works: Raw, deep, fast, evil and ...trancey, yes. An underground style in the big trance year 1998 andstill full of madness.
Check my fave from this two-tracker: 'Species 1'
