Magdelayna - XXENNIAL (20th Anniversary + Mix Album)

Hi guys - This year heralds my 20th Anniversary of my 'Magdelayna' alias (I think i created it in April 2005). I have been going through my back catalogue of over 200 tracks,and ive picked my favourite productions i did,in three categories - Originals,Chilled & Remixes.

This will all hopefully end up in an epic DJ mix im planning named 'Xxennial'. Im also hoping to get some sort of physical album out on CD - and im planning to make a 2025 version of one of my favourite originals 'Second Universe'.

Below are my top 10 picks in the categories i described - feel free to comment if you remember any - or any of my tracks that should be in there!

Well,im a massive geek so ive already got my top 10 tracks written down from each category haha (yep very sad) but id say....Back To The Stars,Cern remix and Second Universe.

In fact,the top 10's are in video order on the posts.

Nice one. Checked those three. Back To The Stars, I like that big clap. Did you have a "Ferry Corsten 80's styled" clap in your mind?

Some of these are nice. Accessing Your Memory, I bet something like this would be signed on Borderline. Oh I see it was released back then. I think melodically I like the "We Lived A Lifetime" the most. But that one is not the best production, the kick/bass sounds a bit weak/muffled. The production of Accessing Your Memory sounds quite a lot better. So I end up picking that one

Cheers,yeah i think Accessing is one of my best produced,it had some good DJ support at the same...Scott Bond played it at Gatecrasher. I agree some need reworking..We Lived A Lifetime,melodically great but needs more power and drive.

Second Universe is the first one im attempting a 2025 rework on..one of my best melodies but the original is quiet and muffled,i really didnt master that well at the time...but its not the side of producing i was experienced in then.

Also played at Gatecrasher's is amazing, that's really something since we are talking about one of the most iconic trance events/clubs.

Yeah,id say its in my top 5 melodies - Aly & Fila supported it way way back in 2009 on their FSOE radio show. I will give it a good go on the rework!
