Absolute stone cold classic. The way that part one builds and loops with relentless dark drive, and then explodes with euphoric punchy synths is something unique. A rare record. Part two pretty good too.

Love this one. Remember hearing Part One on Gatecrasher Discotech Generation CD as a kid. Couldn't get enough of it.

Labyrinth - Part 1. Not as well celebrated as Viola, perhaps because it doesn’t contain a famous remix that adds an another dimension. An uplifting track without being uplifting trance is the classic sense of the word. Labyrinth is an apt title as it ebbs and flows for 8 glorious minutes. Moogwai then rewards you after 6 minutes by finally introducing the main melody. Only the most confident of producers would do this. Thankfully it has outro as otherwise there would be way too much going on to mix out of....

Both tracks are monumental, just excellent. Cant pick between them. Great memories seeing Part 1 dropped at a Creamfields event way back

Part 2 <3 It sounds more polished than Part 1 IMO. It's like Moogwai used modern production techniques for this version.

Part I is just incredible. Was never a fan of Part II to be honest.

I wonder why some of us are drawn to Part I, and others to part II?

Anyways, Part I made it to track of the week!

I don't know whether or not this has been confirmed by systematic reviews and meta-analyses, but the world's top scientists and thinkers argue that it might be due to some things called taste and personal preference.

Never listened to these. Right now leaning towards Part 2, but both do a great job. Need to listen to more of the Platipus back catalogue.

I mean, yeah, but what specific things about one and the other 🤣

part 1 is more deep/rolling (i would even say it's progressive trance)
part 2 is more a generic (platipus) trance in a sense with higher contrast and breaks.

so if you are into more deep/progressive stuff probably you will like part 1 more thats it. for me personally part1 is more trancy in the direct sense not the genre definition (cause some techno/house maybe be more trancier than trance)

Damn, these really are fire. Part 2 all the way if i'm gonna choose. It's one of the best tracks ever made I think.
