Presenting her own take on Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox’s recent linkup, Mia Dahli fuels the techno rave fire. From the thick kick drums and stubby synth stabs to the futuristic vocal channelling every listener’s attention, this rendition of ‘Concentrate’ pushes the nighttime experience into overdrive. With a futuristic feel as well as nostalgic nod to old-wave dance floors, ‘Concentrate’ sees scene legends Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox deliver a thumping techno belter tailored to the thick of the night. Signifying the start of a new era for Perfecto Records under the Armada Music umbrella, this track sets the bar high whilst providing fans with a good ol’ techno thrashing.

Unpopular opinion: Paul Oakenfold is overrated as hell imo… I won’t say that he didn’t make anything good for dance music but I’ve never called him a „legend”.

he's had a couple really big tunes way back then - Southern Sun, Amsterdam, a couple others I can't name just now but yeah his ongoing 'legend' image is mostly thanks to the proper management, I can say quite the same for Paul van Dyk, some other 90s guys like ATB that are still not forgotten besides being musically broke for decade

anyway Carl Cox is not a producer at all, that doesn't stop his name appearing in certain business releases like this one, and he's considered a big techno legend too, so these two worth each other

Not a track to remember, but Paul Oakenfold will always be a legend. For his superb mixes and his production team made quite some amazing tracks.

My Oakenfold take...

Like Tiesto after him, is a DJ first and formost but has always had a successful production team behind him to help create many of the hits. Oakenfold in the 90's could not be really be touched in terms of Trance set programming. GOA mixes. Nuf said.

Also produced (in name anyway) various albums from U2, Madonna,Happy Mondays etc.

This track is rubbish of course and really is another DJ that should stand aside and let us others come through.

Wow, this is extremely horrible. Sounds worse than what an AI music generator can produce in 5 seconds.

Some of Oakenfold highlights for me: Ready steady go (Pmt remix), Dreadrock (matrix ost) & Dark machine (swordfish ost), Han Zimmer - Jack's suite oaeky remix (Pirates of the Caribbean ost) & Yahel - Creature (Oaky remix).

Also I'm alive ft infected mushroom (sonic element mixes), Full moon party, Bla bla bla, Djs United classic collab, recent Armin collab, & perhaps Tokyo (there really isn't much..how did he reach this legend status so early on and even had a small contract with Big brother TV show for intro/outro uplift for ad breaks, seems fishy, I've heard / read some of the conspiracies about it and his shady contracts maybe that played a role or he just had a good reach then, maybe he's not a bad soul as Ferry or maybe equally worse but thats all besides the pont when youre ghosted lmao, you're just another Talla in my eyes, and speaking of Talla Technoclub brand just really sealed the deal for this guy).

Paul Oakenfold looks like he’s had too many plastic surgery operations as well.

The track... is probably an effective techno track for a techno floor. But I don't think it has much to do with trance.

I don't dislike it. But I won't go back to it, as I've heard hundreds of such stabby techno tracks before.
