First premiered during their Anjunadeep Miami b2b set in 2024, 'Dead Synthy' marks the first collaboration between progressive house legends Sasha and Marsh.

This track is a quintessential slice of progressive house magic. Its calm, inviting atmosphere feels like a journey through little fluffy clouds, weaving in touches of electro and ethereal, angelic vocals. With golden-age vibes that nod to the roots of the genre, 'Dead Synthy' is as timeless as it is fresh.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Marsh shares:

“It all came together the week before my set with Sasha in Miami. He called me with the idea of creating something special for our performance and sent over an early draft called 'Dead Synthy.' I was immediately drawn to its atmosphere, chords, vocals, and arpeggios. I got to work, adding the main riff, bassline, and drums, and soon we had a first version ready to test.

Sasha told me my riff reminded him of Jam & Spoon—specifically their track 'Stella.' I’ll admit, I hadn’t heard of them at the time (shameful, I know), but thankfully, it wasn’t a dealbreaker! After sending the stems back to Sasha, he beefed up the mix and refined the idea. The final version came together beautifully, especially with those wild breaks in the breakdown. The processing is insane and adds a unique edge to the journey. Oh, and the name? Sometimes a placeholder title just sticks—and honestly, 'Dead Synthy' feels like a perfect fit.”

For Marsh, 2024 was a landmark year. He delivered a steady stream of standout releases and maintained a packed global tour schedule, which included the launch of his ARIA hybrid showcase. This showcase saw him sell out London’s Outernet and close Red Rocks under a blizzard. Marsh starts 2025 on a high note, bringing his signature All Night Long show to Fabric for the second year in a row on February 7th.

As for Sasha, his legacy as one of the world’s most celebrated DJs continues to evolve. Known for blending house, techno, and trance into his sets, he’s also made waves beyond the club scene. His score for the Da Vinci interactive exhibition, which premiered in Berlin in 2022, won multiple awards, including Best Immersive Experience (Art Directors Club, 2022) and Best Experimental Design (Creative Pool Awards, 2022).

Together, Sasha and Marsh have created something truly special with 'Dead Synthy'— a track that’s sure to resonate far beyond the dancefloor.

Confirmed collab as seen on an Anjunadeep reel on Insta. Been waiting for this one! :)

Such a cool collab. Marsh in the build up and Sasha sounds in the climax.

Came in here all cynical and shit, but I liked it from the first beat. And it just gets better! So, so good.

The base beat is a bit standard but it works here. The breakbeat break is pretty tasty/refined though and what follows is kina sweet aswell .

Replied with some other track i'm not a great fan of Marsh but this is one is really nice. Great to see a breakbeat-break, they seem to be rare these days.

Did kinda leave me wanting more, the climax. Let's hope there's more.

Fun fact: an earlier version of the track played my Marsh in his Snowdonia Star set didn’t feature any breaks at all in the break until the additional melody came in, so they were likely a later addition 🙂

Seeing the cover I was like oh we have an oldschool release as totw again? Saw the names and i was like it can't be old hehe

Brilliant track, classic Anjunadeep 01-04 vibes and we haven't had something similar in a long time as far I know. Lovely sounds, progressive and the break is great, with these fx sound that brings you back when they were famous. And the sounds on 3:30 agains takes me back! And it feels like Marsh had more impact on the first part of the track, while Sasha on the second. I wouldn't mind more of the first cool sound after the drop and as the track closes.

Lovely stuff. Anyone can say whatever he wants, but trance/house/techno scene the last couple of years have been having extremely quality releases with classic sounds again. No the baga baga we had to suffer for a decade.

edit: oh yeah, great to see the oldschool Anjunadeep covers making a comeback, I didn't expect it. hehe :D

Love what they've done hear. Is this Sasha's first time on an Anjuna label?
