Search Engine Finetuning?

Hey all.
I wonder if it would be possible to reduce the word restrictions on the forum's search engine, as it essentially makes it almost impossible to search for artists or topics that contain supposedly common words, like Above & Beyond, or Trance Wax (the last one complained "wax" was too short or too common). If you try to search for A&B's full name, it just doesn't even return results...

I'm not sure, haven't really used search so far. Will look into it. Did you try using tags?

To add, the search engine IS a bit weird. I've decreased the minimum word length to 3, but when you search for "wax", it returns nothing. It's really weird, and I don't think I can find any setting to help with that. So I think that it's on XenForo and their software, though there's probably an add-on which costs money that would improve it...

Hey, yeah, thought as much, most forum platforms don't give you many admin options for the search engine It's no problem but it's a bit of a hassle as it makes it impossible to search for certain artists.

EDIT: Using tags can certainly be a solution I suppose, as long as everyone used them too.

Thanks for bringing that to attention @Spider-Vice, indeed that is shit that it cannot search for key words like Wax. Also I have no idea why Above & Beyond would give you no results, that makes no sense. Will look into this.

It claims both Above and Beyond are common words so it returns nothing. Old TF on vBulletin had the same problem.

There's only a handful of settings regarding the search engine, and that includes enable/disable, max threads per page, max number of results, and min word length. So there's that.

As said, it is what it is with XenForo. The optional extra of Enhanced search costs $55 for a year (with additional $10 for another one). Resource manager (for articles, interviews) is $65 (+$15), and so on and so on. Everything extra costs.

Slightly off-topic but the search button doesn't work when you access the site using a mobile phone.
Nothing happens when you click on the magnifying glass.
