utterly weird remix, sounding more like a mashup with Madagascar, the vocals just don't follow the chords
dub mix sounds fine but has nothing to do with the original tune
I should put some context around my approach for this remix as there is a bigger picture,...I knew it was going to be a part of a 3 series release, so I knew there was going to be multiple versions of it, and taking that into account plus the fact that the track has had so many remixes over the years, and then pooling all that together and looking at how many of those remixes repeated the same formula, same melody, and same chord sequence it just, for me, seemed wrong to rinse and repeat again.
In addition my stance on a remix is to 'remix', not 'redo', and on a vocal track I will always aim to do something different to the original. It's my way of saying "if I wrote this track, what would I have done?"
Aside from the vocal (and the track is in key with the vocal) there is some elements from the original (like the guitar), but that's how, IMO, a remix should be, unless it's an instrumental track which then you have to use the main lead.
Understandable that some people wont like it, but some will.
