Please, be my guest.. i would love to read this. You can fill me in this time bruva.
“Overall not bad, better then 99% currently being churned out. the sounds are ok, but the way its mixed/mastered is rather sterile and bland plus the track would benefit from being a bit more musically interesting”

Am I close? 😏

Electronlyman you summed it up nicely.

I enjoyed all three tracks, but not blown away. They are good though. Will definitely be buying and adding to the playlist, and yes as Jetflag's DS impression states, it's better than majority of tracks in similar style

I actually think I like Mike Nichol's the most. It has much more balls and energy, which Thrillseeker's are missing. They just feel too safe to me in many ways. Yh Nichol's mix is a bit super charged, but it is quite cool none the less.

Hard to pick between Steves. Almost Nearly has a nice Veracocha feel to the melody. The extra track length allows the counter melody and it's really nice when it all comes together. Be With Me has that rolling baseline and probably better melody, and I like the samples. Definitely classic meets modern hybrid, but too short so doesnt feel like it has a interesting build/tension.

But unfortunately for me the modern production just prevents it from being something I really get excited about. It's not like I dont like modern production, there's sexy sounding stuff in bandcamp underground all the time right now (musicality issue aside). The kicks, hats and synths all just sound too perfect, to homogenized, too clean, and kind of empty/soulless to my ears. I know this is Steve's sound for a while now, and I really liked Amber, but I just think the lack of warmth and balls really keeps it one level below the top tier tracks.

Couldn't have said it better. The clean-level of Be With Me is just horrible. I can't listen to this kind of EQ. This track deserves better. Many producers seem to like the extremely cold and harsh sounds.

I blame his main flagship synth tbh.

ueh’s DIVA is a brilliant piece of software don’t get me wrong but it stops it’s utility at basses, tinepianos and clean plucks for me.

steve (though i could by all accounts be 100% wrong about this/not able to do any better mind you) seems to use it for the majority of all the sounds he uses

It's the same story over and over again with this genre. Do they reject the old sounds because of fear of looking like they are stuck in the past? Or do they genuinely believe this new way is an improvement on what we had before? After so long now I am at a loss to explain what's going on.

It's like the genre has lost it's confidence that it used to have but I noticed that with his amber album as well. I miss the warmth and the groove trance used to have.

ChatGPT:

Question: There is a user on Trancefix.nl with the name Daysleeper. What do you think his opinion is about the track: Thrillseekers - Be With Me?

——

Finding specific opinions from individual users on forums can be challenging without access to direct posts, especially if the user is not well-known for reviewing that particular track. In this case, there is no direct evidence of Daysleeper's opinion on "Thrillseekers - Be With Me" on Trancefix.nl.

However, based on Daysleeper's general engagement and preferences expressed in other threads, it's possible to infer a bit about his taste. Daysleeper tends to appreciate tracks with a nostalgic or classic trance feel and has been critical of modern trance production, preferring the authentic sound from the earlier eras of trance music [oai_citation:1,United Trance Division - God of Dreams EP [TF Recordings] | TranceFix - Electronic Music Forum](https://www.trancefix.nl/index.php?threads/united-trance-division-god-of-dreams-ep-tf-recordings.6163/page-2) [oai_citation:2,Anjunadeep Vol. 12 [Anjunadeep] | TranceFix - Electronic Music Forum](https://www.trancefix.nl/index.php?threads/anjunadeep-vol-12-anjunadeep.2550/).

Given this perspective, if "Thrillseekers - Be With Me" aligns with classic trance characteristics, which Thrillseekers is known for, it is likely that Daysleeper would have a favorable opinion of it. If the track deviates significantly from that style, his response might be less enthusiastic.

For a definitive answer, directly checking Trancefix.nl or reaching out to Daysleeper on the forum could provide more specific insights.
I wish Steve would create tracks like this of course not the long breakdown but that melody is almost old thrillseeker sound

@EnigmaState

Be With Me with a kick something like from your In My Fantasy would have been stunning!
Remix? 🤔
Ha nah, id love to but not sure if I could, plus I'd prob want approval from Steve before hand anyway, out of respect really.

For me, Be With Me is a fantastic track. I'm not looking for it to be classic sounding track. This for me is a perfect modern day trance track. Not over done, minimal layering.

In my opinion and most likely the opinion of many here as well, you're the most appropriate producer to get your hands on it.

I'm sure Steve himself would be excited to find out that Enigma State wants to remix his production. 🙂

To show your respect, you could possibly create a remix which would be useful for his gigs, an intro/outro version. 🤔

The clean-level of Be With Me is just horrible.

I'd say calling horrible is quite harsh. I don't mind it, just when you know how good things can be its kind of disappointing. Frustrating too, because it feels like Trance and Prog is particular is the genre suffering the most from all this, and for so long now, yet it's one of the types of music that is elevated so much by having the human touch and sound.

Anyone figured what are the words in the vocal sample on Almost Nearly Always?

Sounds almost like the words are
"Be With Me" 😂

Be With Me was produced after Almost Nearly Always.
I wanna say it's a vocal sample from within Cubase he's used with a gated effect, could be wrong there tho.

You guys are right about the kick and overly cleanness of the mix. Theyre still good tracks, all of them. It doesn't ruin it for me. I like Be With Me the most but needs an extended extended mix.

Mike Nichol's track my pick of the three. I like the techy climax but how it also introduces the melodic riff afterwards tastefully. The track is arranged as if there's a story to tell, and for that it gets a thumbs up from me.

The two other Thrillseekers tracks sound fine. The melodies probably sound a bit too familiar/safe for me. Almost like a tribute to older trance tunes but nothing too inventive or groundbreaking in that sense. For one, I don't mind the clean and clinical style of production. His older tunes have always sounded exceptionally clean/crisp, can't say it's too much different from what it is now. Steve always had his own sound and I'm totally okay with it.

Be With Me is really nice, but I would use slightly less prominent kick 7,5/10
Always has some great melodic ideas however it lacks some power, but still a great oldschool track 7/10
Nichol track has good melody but the empty drop was huge off for me 5/10

Just heard 'Be With Me' on a recent Solarstone episode and what a tune. Nice to hear fresh Thrillseekers.

Good to see Mike Nichol's still producing.
