Is it me, or is the mastering/EQ all over the place in this track? Sounds like a cheap 128kpbs version or something?

Other than that, it's nice to see Tom back, has it really been 7 years since his last proper release??

Firstly, it’s a normal thing with Beatport previews :)

Second - no, he recently had a collab with JOC on Subculture as well.

Perhaps referring to solo original haven't seen one for ages. I hope he brings his old sound also such as tracks like headless horseman / affirmation activa mix etc maybe he needs to collab with tyas it just something tells me he was his co producer back in those days.

This release itself is 8.3/10 but im expecting 8.5/9.0 followup, I have full faith in him, hes finna pull the next Mike push (comprising of his old/new signature ofc)

Say Nothing collab with James Cottle on Vandit released 2020 was a last proper release from Tom then he collabed with John recently with femals vocals & now finally solo.

I reckon a collab with Tyas or Activa = unlock 100% old Colontonio sound!

ah yes, the 3:24 Extended Prolonged Mix

I liked the beginning of this preview, it actually reminded me of classic Discover sound. Smth Sean Tyas / Inertia did back around 2005-2008.
But after the breakdown started and during the drop - it felt too modern I guess... Or maybe I just heard too much similar stuff, idk.

This sounds nothing like this though 😕 ok maybe tiny parts during the into

Is this a joke or what 3 & half mins extended mix on subculture 😮

EDIT: The intro part is 100% tyas or Tom trying to do everything himself now but mixing is a bit off why am I hearing elevated snares and fx during the main phase. Melody wise this is actually solid 8.5.

Pretty OK, especially the intro part, the main melody is OK but pretty expectable.
At least it's not hurting your ears masteringwise ;)

Nice comeback onto Subculture. Love his early release on the label 'Nighthawk' - Subculture was releasing bombs back then.

enjoyable melodies although the overall execution feels either lazy/rushed or just not skilled enough.

actually that's the case with a lot of modern tracks, they're being developed until they're 'good enough', no one's willing to go the extra mile with the attention to details that could possibly left unnoticed by the masses, but where's the inner perfectionism of the artists? you're not a hotdog makers cmon..
