Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In (2024)
Best martial arts movie I have watched this year by far. Great fight scenes, great settings.

The Platform 2
More like a side story to Platform 1, instead of sequel. The movie starts strong, but gets flatter to the end. Overall still an enjoyable watch, though.

Transformers One (2024)
Story has more depth than the previous live action movie series.
I think now Megatron has more fans because of it.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man (2024)
The movie might have the lowest budget than the previous. But I Like the horror style treatment. Something fresh from a superhero movie.

The thumbnail is NSFW

Some cool science fiction mixed with horror overtones if you are into that kind of stuff but the movies are too damn short but well produced and acted.

Mixed feelings on the Alien franchise currently.

Romulus - More entertaining than I expected, but really messed with the lore and was generic. I'm glad it did well in the box office as it gives more incentive for more alien movies, but it really needs to step up to the next level.

Alien Earth - have a feeling this series is gonna be atrocious. No way its gonna be good. Bringing the Xeno to earth decades before original film seems to undermine all the others, and have a feeling they wont pull off the premise well.

Ridley new alien movie - Very surprised to see this announcement. He fucked Prometheus. Covenant even worse. So do we have faith he will fix his mistakes wrap up the trilogy. He wont will he.

Nope,

what bothers me even more is that there actually is good alien lore post alien3 with aliens on earth 🤷‍♂️

Hollywood has a nack for missing the mark lately

a welcome instance of AI enhancing done right, as well as a good example of "show. Don't tell"

I'm glad it's officially being recognized as non canon now. I never considered STD to be canon at all.
Yeah the series is all over the place. Blue Klingons ffs.. I am enjoying SNW must say.. the crossover between that and lower decks had me laughing

I watched Avatar 2 the other day. Somehow, after 15 years, the CGI actually looks worse than the first movie. It's this clinical, soulless, cheap video game cutscene approach that despite the technical leaps and increased realism seems more fake than the first movies. Doesn't this sound familiar? Technology seems to make our creative outputs worse, not better. Homogenization is real and effects both music and movies. Imperfection and stylistic approaches are key to the experience. The more perfect we make the kick the worse it sounds, the more perfect we make the texture on the face, the more unenjoyable it is to look at.

Anyway, visuals and technology aside, the movie is absolute dogshit. The most generic story you could possible imagine. Somehow made Pandora boring. After 45 mins of watching the 3 hours I knew I had made a big mistake.

Last week I binged all of the Bear, today I finished Barry (starring Bill Hader). Both phenomenal shows. I think the Bear might be one of the best shows I've ever seen, the writing in it is so fucking good

I can't get into Lower Decks it's too fast paced for me. Avoid Section 31 it's bad like really really bad. There is a scene in the movie (originally a tv series) where Michelle Yeoh's character eat eye balls and then in the movie she also kills her entire family and torture her lover with a burnt sword. That is so Star Trek.
