This legendary set of words means NOTHING in the context its presented today.

Hear me. nOTHING!

Dont get me wrong, I really wish it did, but lets be real. It just does not. Even if theres some nice tracks on there. Nope.

I really think it was a bad decision by the guys when they decided to continue the series. The only thing thats still can be regarded class is the free hand-writing styled letters you see there in that ugly circle in the middle. (was that tiesto's own hand writing?)

16 was actually ok, with some nice tracks to be found, and the generic/pop feel toned down compared to past ones. Will keep an open mind, but yeah expectations fairly low.

ISOS used to have an identity; You were never in doubt when listening to one of the first 7 ISOS-compilations. Now it just sounds like any other progressive/wannabe-compilations sprinkled with a couple of uplifting tracks near the end. I could honestly never see myself listening to this compilation after going through all the samples.

Schulz tracklist looks pretty cool, not sure about the Kryder and KVA, that will be probably be way to housey for my taste, but well, ISOS compilation always been somewhat chilled and housey...

It sounds like you would expect mostly ;)

not something worthwhile hanging in the christmas tree

I listened to the previews in the m.schulz mix. What a mess of different-sounding tracks. The first intro is actually impressive, than the second track goes pretty hard on the big-room feel, while the third is more suiting and chilled and so on it contiunes. Doest feel well thought out at all.

Hm looks like Markus put in the efford and did a lot of of editing/remixing, This is something I used to love with the earlier Cold harbour series. Say what you will of the man and his more generic/poptrance stuff, but he can produce and catch a very specific athmosphere if he want to.

So the fact that he has multible tracks reworked under a "Markus Schulz In Search of Sunrise Rework/mix" moniker has me curious. Now his ISOS reworks could be mega shit, maybe. but the fact that he put that efford into it to make the thing "a whole" if you will has me carefully optimistic.

will check later.

I'm not as pessimistic as you guys. Granted I haven't heard much from the artists being featured here, nor have I liked much of what the previous entries offered, I'm still genuinely excited about a new compilation/mix to dive into.

had a listen, and agree with this sentiment but for different reasons.

markus's mix isn't as much in search of Sunrise as it is just.. wel.. Sunrise, constantly. the whole mix/time.

A very pretentious compilation. All the mixes are boring as hell.

They should stop shitting on the ISOS name. It has nothing to do with the legendary Tiesto series anymore.

I have to take a few words back and apologize, because the Kyau & Albert mix is actually very good. That David Broaders track in that mix is kick ass stuff.

Schulz has some good moments, like the new Anske, Fonzerelli, Daxson, Dan Thompson and the new remix for Mesh is not that bad, overally 7/10
Kryder CD is quite boring, including mostly older tracks, it has like 3-4 good tracks on it, but thats not enough 4/10
KVA the whole first part is boring, but then there are some nicce tracks like Spuren, new Broaders, Grand, older track by Ron With Leeds and decent compilation finisher with Exolight and Suncatcher...6+/10
