What’s all this then?

Me, playing live?

Frankly at the time, when doing it, I thought I was pretty terrible. Watching the video, I changed my mind a little.

Day of preparation, (the day of the actual gig) again, everything went wrong, so I scraped everything and started again.

small audience (thankfully 😆)

made the first track in 1 hour and started it 90 mins before the show, an Ambient track which I blend into the 2nd track (somehow) an Acid Techno track. (which just before leaving for the gig, I realised the prerecorded parts had recorded wrong. F***it I thought, they won’t notice 😆

And Relax

It's been a while since I lurked around here.

My car was fully fixed, and I picked it up a couple weeks ago. It's good to be back in my own car :) the Mustang and Challenger were fun to drive, though!

(Back story: since the body shop fixing my car is 120 miles away from my city, I had to get a one-way rental to get there. Fortunately, the local rent-a-car place had a nice black Dodge Challenger available the day of)

What else...

I attended a pop concert recently in DC, and loved it. The group wasn't my favorite, but I think they have a lot of potential and make some great music. I'm looking forward to their next releases.

At work, I've continued interviewing for internal positions. I think it's very real that I will eventually move out of my area to move up in my career. The manufacturing facility I'm based out of went on a hiring freeze, so no one is getting promoted at the moment. I'm really hoping these applications work out.

I had my album ready for a while, but I kept going back working on songs, obsessing about small details and was ready to forget the idea of even uploading, let alone releasing it. Today I decided life is too short to overthink and jumped the gun and scheduled a release date and everything. I feel so strange now, but I am glad did it.

How are you releasing it? Through a label you asked or they asked you? Or is it a self release label? I bet it’s going to be great!

Thanks man! I perform at these open mic nights now and again.
Il check out that video . Cheers

Watching now. Seen a few of this type of live performance . Quite inspiring. This one’s haunting but very interesting. Funnily enough I had some ideas yesterday how to incorporate a more prog house vibe into a live performance. It seems from previous gigs, if I play a pad/string with a kind of distinctive enough sound to the rest of the sounds so it’s easily heard, I can do it kinda well. Plus pads are some of my favourite sounds as they are often the foundation of a track’s atmospheric feel. And thus, often relaxing to play.

- this video you posted. Reminds me of sounds chocolate puma have used in their tracks or actually in compilation albums comprised of different artists. . If I google the guy and it turns out he’s part of chocolate puma I will not be surprised.

different style and tempo -but similar sounds ( but with less reverb)

Self release through Bandcamp and SoundCloud, in new releases section I showed all the platform I am hoping it will get released mostly Spotify, tidal, Amazon, apple. I was thinking of trying really hard to get a label backing, but that could of easily taken another 5/6 months. Since I am mostly hoping on getting some stream I uploaded the whole album with the remastered songs in SoundCloud as kind of pre release.

Just listening now. My favourite track is the first! The Future ❤️. Love this version. Different from the old one I heard. Both brilliant but now it has a real dance feel like house / prog trance blend with a bit of funk! Love it!

oh Jesus. I think I might get addicted to ‘The Future’. I haven’t even heard the full version. Just the teaser.

when is the full album released?
Edit
Just found it. Will purchase!
No ‘The Future’ but from the first track , it’s a different feel. Is that why it’s not included?

Album is sounding swish! Superb!

So bit of a bucket list moment for me.

One of my original tracks called 'Running Man' will feature on the forthcoming Pure Trance Vol.10 mix.

Bit of a mad story.
Originally my remix of 'Shards' was earmarked, but the album took so long to put together that it just never came to be (I also think there's another version of Shards on there as well)

I finished working on this track which is a cover/interpolation of a piece from the Harold Faltermeyer sound track of the movie 'The Running Man' (You know, the Schwarzenegger one) but licensing it was a night mare due to the melody being a motif throughout the soundtrack there was no original track as sorts to refer it to. @Magnevi Suggested I just send it out to labels anyway, the theory being if they liked it enough they may sort out the licensing part of it them selves.

So I sent it over to Rich Solarstone and he loved it and said he wanted it for PT10 and they sorted out all the legal stuff their end.

Considering how glacially slow release times tend to be, the fact that I only sent the demo over to him about 7 weeks ago probably counts this as a last minute addition! :ROFLMAO:

The Future was a label release that why I preferred to upload a teaser and the label uploaded the full version on SoundCloud. That was somewhere as guide on the label page. If you search on SC you can find the full version. It's also on Spotify and YouTube.

Thankfully, a couple of us at work got Premium for like 2 EUR a month per person. I forgot how an ad even looks like on YT. Worth every penny just for the drop in blood pressure.

YouTube have talked about this though, they were gonna fight against ad blockers.

It's super annoying. 2 euros seems like a rip off if you ask me. They are just trying to milk as much money as they can by fighting against people who want to do the right thing. You get annoying ads like these

Parody of the ad above.

Full ad which is over 3 minutes and some go for 1 hour long.

What's the right thing here again? Hosting videos and in general running the service costs them as well, and by ad-blocking you are removing their main source of revenue for YouTube. It's not realistic to expect to be given everything for free.

Right thing is blocking stupid and pointless ads which no one wants to watch like the ones above I indicated. Wrong, Youtube main revenue service is through videos and views it gets and you get paid for it for the monetization.

I eventually caved and subscribe to youtube premium, very reluctantly. I use a few youtube channels for home workouts though and could do without ad breaks in between reps because the amount of ads is just getting stupid now. just feels like every company going is thinking of new ways to gouge us for extra money
