Anyone here also into Downtempo, Trip-Hop, Lo-Fi or Chill-Hop music?

It's my most listened to type of genre by far I think. I work all day with these relaxing background sounds, cook with it, play games to it, read books etc. Its ultimate chill, no thinking required music really isn't it?. Lo-Fi artists really doesn't even try to make tracks, instead its like sample loops to switch off too, but thats fine in my eyes. Downtempo I guess is the more upbeat and interesting side with more creativity.

Of the three I've mainly heard downtempo. Never really got into lo-fi/chill hop, but I know those genres have been trending recently.

I forgot to add the genre Trip-hop to the thread title (how do i edit/do that?), Emancipator is an artist I enjoy too, alongside similar ones like Massive Attack, Portishead, DJ Krush, Nightmares on Wax etc.

Been recently revisiting my Downtempo sets and expanding and diversifying up a bit.....while you can lump a lot of stuff under downtempo as a parent genre there's a lot more detail underneath.

I do like the Chill Hop / Lo-Fi Hip-Hop scene too as its a bit downtempo and a bit hip-hop equally (kinda like trip-hop but without the same vibe) and it got quite a fanbase too. REally fits into lifestyle music where its perfect for studying and background work.

My younger brother produces some lofi hip hop with his friends and their beat tape is pretty good. It's nice to talk audio be able to share my passion for music with him. He's a big fan of Jinsang, Nujabes, and J Dilla.

hmm. It’s a pop music I think, the vocals make it something else. The instrumental also bit too fast and non chill related.
